I was hoping for something that would actually suction up small pieces of paper or crumbs. The hole on the bottom is only 1"x1" so there isn't any power. Also the removable tray is so tiny and hard to remove i can barely do it myself...let alone my 3 year old. He loves the toy though. With such mixed reviews i was hesitant to buy. I decided to check it out in person and decide, i would not have paid more than the $29.99 it is currently priced at, previously i saw it at $43.00 it is not worth that much. I would say a $24.99 is a fair price for this product, it is semi-durable and fun to play with. it comes boxed in 1 complete piece except for the handle, which snaps on.

We looked forward to giving this toy to our son for Christmas. Kids ages 2-3 love to push toys and control them: lawnmowers, vacuums - these toys are perfect for the age group and interest. Our son was so excited. However, when we opened it up, he was immediately frustrated. It doesn't stand up. As you use it, the back wheels constantly get stuck and the vacuum cannot click and stay in place. So, when you want it to stand up or lean, it cannot stay up and when you want to push it, it tends to momentarily lock upright. We know how to get it back to the right place, but kids of this age group need to experience independence in play and it makes our son so frustrated to not be able to stand it up or play with it by himself. The dispenser to collect dust is difficult even for us to remove. The vacuum is also very small, even for our averaged-sized 2.5 year old son. We also recognize that the vacuum does not have suction as advertised (not a huge problem for a kids' toy but it should not be advertised this way) although overall, we agree that the toy "sucks."

I bought this because my then 18 month old girl always keeps fiddling with my Dyson Ball vacuum whenever she sees me using it.I like the toy coz it looks like the real Dyson Ball albeit smaller ,color more yellow than orange, and cordless (I wish the real Dyson Ball was made that way ).The recommended age for this is from 3 and up but even my daughter is built on the small side and the box of this clearly states up to 63 cm total height, if you child is on the tall side, I don't see this toy being comfortable to play with beyond 3 ft (my daughter is now only 2 feet in height) as the handle doesn't telescope like the real thing .THIS NEEDS A WHOPPING 4 "C" batteries! I like it coz it's more realistic than most vacuum toys. Not sure it will withstand extreme rough play as my daughter is not rough on her toys.Mine stands on it's own, no problem but it's the slanted mode that won't stay slanted (when you use deep clean carpet mode).

Before purchasing this I read a lot of reviews that seemed to have expectations that match a grown-up Dyson. I have a $350 cordless Dyson at home. For $350 I get 8 minutes of charge on full power. This toy is well worth $30. We have balls of dog hair constantly floating around and this has sucked up a lot of it as well as little crumbs. I would think it dangerous to have a toy vacuum with the suction power of a real one. My 16 month old loves to help me clean. We've only had it for a few days, so she hasn't learned how to turn it on and off by herself yet, but I imagine she won't take long. I have not had a problem with it standing up on its own, but it's easy to knock over. It is kind of difficult to pull out the little chamber to clean it, but I'm glad she can't do it herself, because she'd probably just dump it on the floor. If you have a little helper this is a great buy.

I bought this for my daughter because it looks just like our real vacuum, but it stopped working after a month, the replacement did not work strait out of the box, this was very disappointing for my daughter

I bought this toy for my son with autism who is obsessed with my real Dyson vacuum that this one is modeled after. He was very excited when he saw the box because he knew it was for him but a bit perplexed at the size. If you have the real life one, I'd gather it's about a fifth it's size.

The handle does not retract (which was the first thing he tried to do to see if it would reach up higher : Also the canister does not come off and there is no step button to lay it down in the rolling position. It also very easily pops back into the upright position during use. This was somewhat frustrating for him as he was trying to use it like the real vacuum by stepping on the back to get it to lay down. So, if you have children like my son who may have issues with change, just be forewarned that it only looks identical so those will be the changes.

It's extremely small, so the ages 3-8 is not accurate as he is only five and is perhaps no taller than the average 6 or 7 year old at most. So, he has to stoop down pretty low to use it.

He loves it still as of today, but I am sure he will tire of it and want the regular sized one soon, so my plan to keep my other one in tact, may not work :).

It's made of plastic, my son is pretty destructive however, so I can't attest to the durability of it as he is not the average toy user and tends to break a lot of items

Considering this cost as much as a real vacuum of a cheaper company I am a bit disappointed since I only bought it because it looks like the one we have in our home.

So, it's a cute little toy, but not so much for a taller child or a child who is easily frustrated like my son with autism.
