Book Description

October 8, 2004
"Vaer saa god – Come and Eat" is a cookbook that not only includes recipes from family and friends, but provides information and history such as Growing Up Foods, Feeding Threshers, Old Time Butchering, The Chicken – Egg Saga, Everything is Better with Butter. It also includes a section on Norwegian Foods (the title, vaer saa god, is Norwegian for come and eat). This book would be of interest to many, as it contains the history of cooking, especially in rural areas during the Depression, and to those looking for both old and new recipes.
