Product Description

Vagisil Screening Kit is for women with symptoms of unusual discharge, unpleasant odor, itching or burning. The purpose of the kit is to help women decide if her symptoms may be a yeast infection or another type of vaginal infection that will require a visit to a physician. The kit measures pH. The kit consists of a gynecologist developed vaginal wand with pH paper on one end, and a pH color guide. pH indicates how acidic or basic an aqueous solution may be. To use the Kit, a women inserts the wand into the vagina, presses the pH paper against the vaginal wall, removes the wand, then matches the resulting color with the color on the pH guide. The number that corresponds with the color match is her vaginal pH. Very easy to use with immediate results.

Easy and simple to use.

If you don't have a high pH level, it just tells you that you may or may not have a yeast infection.
Kinipela
You could possibly get this same Ph paper for free from your doctor (if available).

Ladies, before wasting your hard earned money purchasing this product either here on Amazon or OTC you can get something similar for a lot cheaper. This product tests the Ph levels inside the vagina using a special grade halochromic chemical paper, or "Ph paper". I'm bio-chemics in the military, I work in a laboratory and we need this paper all the time. Since I don't steal from the US government, this same "Ph paper" can be purchased almost anywhere online including amazon for less than half this price (anywhere between $3-$15); and best of all this same "ph paper" can be purchased in the 80-100 strips category. Now cut those strips in half or in fourths and now you're looking at 200+ pieces. Two strips is a complete rip off and two isn't anywhere near enough considering our Ph changes as we approach or end our monthly cycles for those of us who still have them. Sometimes multiple screenings are needed and 2 for $15 just doesn't cut it.

What I do is attach a tiny strip of this Ph paper to one of those long q-tips, insert it into the vagina, hold for about 5 seconds, take it out, wait 15 seconds and match it to the chart on the package. Normal vaginal Ph is somewhere between 3.8 to 4.2 which is pretty acidic and will give you a yellow reading which bareley changes the paper. Yeast hardly gives any Ph changes so you may have the same color or slightly darker. Anything at 4.5 or above usually points to BV, trichomiasis or another condition that needs medical treatment which will show up as dark green or blue depending on how severe it is. A vaginal ph chart can easily be googled for your reference to help you along.

I think people are getting tne wrong idea about this. The product is very helpful by testing to see what your chances are of a yeast infection or an std. A lot of people have stds and think they are yeast infections. It never says that it will say yes or no you have an infection it clearly says of ph levels are normal then treat like a yeast infection. So it's basically saying that you dont have to go sit at the doctor just yet....So the vagisil product may treat what you are having... If your ph levels are high then it says see a doctor asap. So i think people need to realize that it is a test to let you know your possibilities. its not a yes or no like a pregnancy test. And its not a doctor in a box.

No complaints. It works. It has saved me money by not having to go to the doctor every time something comes up.

The color system is so vague; the test doesn't tell you a damn thing. The only thing it tells you is to go to the doctor. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Easy and simple to use. Directions to tell you exactly what and how to do it. Can be hard to tell the exact color but the best and most accurate way would be to go to the doctor.

I didn't realize that your hormones while pregnant or breastfeeding will raise your ph level and make it look like you have an infection when you don't.

Useless product. It did not help me at all. The test is not conclusive and you will still wonder if you have or not yeast infection.
