I think people are getting tne wrong idea about this. The product is very helpful by testing to see what your chances are of a yeast infection or an std. A lot of people have stds and think they are yeast infections. It never says that it will say yes or no you have an infection it clearly says of ph levels are normal then treat like a yeast infection. So it's basically...

I wish I would have done a little research before I wasted 15.00 on this product. It does not give a definitive answer regarding whether or not you have a yeast infection. If you have a ph of 4.5 (normal) it says you may have a yeast infection if you had symptoms. So basically if you have symptoms treat it, and if you are unsure just go to the dr. Don't waste your...

A lot of people have stds and think they are yeast infections. It never says that it will say yes or no you have an infection it clearly says of ph levels are normal then treat like a yeast infection. So it's basically saying that you dont have to go sit at the doctor just yet....So the vagisil product may treat what you are having... If your ph levels are high then it says see a doctor asap. So i think people need to realize that it is a test to let you know your possibilities. its not a yes or no like a pregnancy test. And its not a doctor in a box.

4.0 out of 5 stars informative, September 17, 2008
I found it very helpful. My pH was high so I then went to the doctor. I liked finding out faster. If your pH is normal, treat like a yeast infection, if it still doesn't clear up then go to the doctor. Chances are, if your pH is normal, its a yeast infection. It isn't fool proof (doctors do a potassium peroxide whiff test and look for clue cells to find out for sure), but for an at-home kit, I think its beneficial and helpful.

This was a waste of money. I bought the kit to see if I indeed had a yeast infection or not and it came up with a ph of 4.5 which would indicate a yeast infection if you had symptoms. I went to my gyno about 2 days later and the tests came back that I had a bacterial infection and not a yeast infection at all.

1.0 out of 5 stars Just Go to the Doctor!, March 31, 2010

The color system is so vague; the test doesn't tell you a damn thing. The only thing it tells you is to go to the doctor. I would not recommend this to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars people getthe wrong idea, this is a good product, January 10, 2012
This review is from: Vagisil Screening Kit, 2-Count Package (Health and Beauty)
I saw alot of people saying it does'nt treat or diagnose an infection. Here's the thing, if you have symptoms, and your ph is normal, then it is something you can do over the counter as far as treatment. If your ph is high, then that means you need to see a doctor, find out exactly what it is, and get a script. I have used this product several times when I have had symptoms. All but one time my ph was normal, so I treated it like a yeast infection, and my symptoms went away. The one time my ph was high, it turned out I had group b strep, which needs a script for treatment. If you take this test, and your ph is'nt high, and you treat it over the counter, and that does'nt work, then you either caught something very early on that needs a script, or you have a bad yeast infection that needs more than just a over the counter treatment. I think 15 is worth this kit because these days i'll spend more than that on my co pay and gas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and Easy, March 28, 2008

This product, though not the most exciting item to be spending my money on, was easy, and straight-forward to use, giving me results in just a few minutes, and saving unwanted time wasted in some doctor's office, talking
about "feminine" issues. It is a tad pricey, but worth the convenience and privacy it provides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works for me., January 2, 2012
This review is from: Vagisil Screening Kit, 2-Count Package (Health and Beauty)
I use these test strips to determine if I have a yeast infection or bacterial infection (Group B Strep), as sometimes I can't tell by how it feels. I could easily compare the pH test strip color to the given color chart to determine my issue and thereby be more informed when talking with my OB about appropriate medication. Just be sure to read the instruction pamphlet inside the box before using the strips, as there are certain conditions under which the strips won't test accurately, including during menstration. These test strips worked for me the times I have used them, and I will buy them again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a doctor in a box---but great for piece of mind, October 24, 2011
This review is from: Vagisil Screening Kit, 2-Count Package (Health and Beauty)
I thought this product was good for its purpose--determining if you need to see a physician. Lots of things cause vaginal itch and irritation, but itch and irritation is not always indicative of a yeast infection. The purpose of this product is to determine whether the pH levels in your vagina are high enough to warrant examination. If your pH level is regular and you have had a yeast infection before (therefore you are familiar with the symptoms), then you can treat yourself with an over-the-counter medication, but if not, you know you must see a physician. Many women mistake sexually transmitted diseases for yeast infections, and this product is a good way to indicate whether you have is actually a yeast infection, or something more serious.
I had some itching and irritation but wasn't sure whether it was a yeast infection, so I was relieved when I received a regular pH reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Pricey Product, August 29, 2011
This review is from: Vagisil Screening Kit, 2-Count Package (Health and Beauty)
All this product does is give the Ph level. It does not treat any problems. It just has the potential to show whether the Ph level of your vagina is either OK or not and supposedly determine if you have a yeast infection. Maybe that's OK, but it kind of behooves me that 80 to 100 Ph strips are sold for less than the price of this 2-strip package. So, your Ph level is off? You still need to either use your own good judgment or see a doctor for treatment.
