5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if installed right
This is one very serious cup holder that will never fail if installed right which is not straight-forward. I am a pretty handy person and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. I can imagine someone in a hurry not putting time and attention to the install having this slide or fall and not being happy with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Must be a better cup holder out there.
We have a Maclaren Triumph. Got this cupholder for it. It doesn't really fit the handles very well, it frequently twists and turns. Within a few days of installing it, the tightening mechanism broke, so the cupholder is hanging on pretty loosely. Jeesh, I better not put any hot beverages in there! Also, the first time I used it, I put a 32 oz cup of iced tea in it, it...

Within a few days of installing it, the tightening mechanism broke, so the cupholder is hanging on pretty loosely. Jeesh, I better not put any hot beverages in there! Also, the first time I used it, I put a 32 oz cup of iced tea in it, it seemed pretty secure initially. How wrong was I? The cup went tumbling on to the floor of the BabyGap, iced tea and ice cubes everywhere! Very embarassiing. This is just OK for the money. And as the title of my review says, there must be something better...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent if installed right, April 15, 2011

This is one very serious cup holder that will never fail if installed right which is not straight-forward. I am a pretty handy person and it took me a few minutes to figure it out. I can imagine someone in a hurry not putting time and attention to the install having this slide or fall and not being happy with it.

First, it does swivel to level your drink if installed on a diagonal bar. Instructions are hard to understand. You have to press a button to make it swivel.

I don't think mine will come off in a hurricane or through all the banging that comes with folding and unfolding a stroller. I think my stroller will break first before this falls off. Like I said, this is one very serious cup holder.

My bar was pretty thick (First Years Wave) but I believe if you unbend the plastic tab follow the instructions below instead of putting your bar where the plastic already comes bent from the factory, it should fit any size bar. You don't have to worry about if your bar is too thin.

When you get the cup holder, the tab piece that goes around the bar comes bent in the middle and it feels like you put your bar in that bent part and put the cup holder on it, tighten, and voila, you are done. This is wrong.

***HOW TO INSTALL***
You should unbend the tab piece. It is a thick piece of plastic and that is probably why a lot of people don't think to do this(which will result in a tight installation.) Then, wrap the plastic around your bar, bending the piece in a way that will make the tab piece be inserted in the casing part really tight. Look at the treads on the tab part so that the treads are meeting tightly around your bar before it goes in all the way into the casing. Then when you get it in, you use the screw thingy to make it even tighter. I also think that this is how you are supposed to install it and the instructions just aren't clear or people are not taking the time to read it.

Someone had a tip on here to use kitchen grip pads around your bar. This is a good idea. I installed mine over the foam part of the stroller handle so I didn't need it but I would've liked some if I was installing over the metal part. Not necessary but would be a nice to have.

4.0 out of 5 stars great if you have THICK handles, February 8, 2011

I have 2 Peg Perego Strollers and the OEM cup holders are AWFUL - their either too small or so cheaply made that they break, so I opted for an addon cup holder. (It seemed like an easy task at first until I kept making trips back and forth trying/returning other brands).

I eventually found this one. It's GREAT only b/c it's the only cup holder I've found that will attach to our stroller handles in a convenient location that doesn't hinder the stroller from collapsing. However it's a PAIN to put on - so once it's on, I will never take it off. Meeting the flap into the tiny hole and then trying to screw on the nut is time consuming. If only the flap was just 1/2 inch longer and same with the nut/screw it would be easy to install/take off.

Why 4 stars? It works. It fits. And it's a giant size that I can put a water bottle or my son's sippy, or a big gulp w/o fear of it teetering out or spilling. It's also super durable. When we've flown with the stroller - it didn't break during gate check (unlike our other cup holders that either were smashed or cracked).

I WOULD NOT recommend this for a thin handle stroller - you have to meet a min diameter in order for it to be stable - this seemed like it was made more for a jogging stroller instead of an umbrella type.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best I have found, June 24, 2009
This review is from: Valco Baby Universal Cup Holder, Black (Baby Product)
This is the third cupholder I have purchased for our Maclaren Quest. First was the BRU lionheart one - junk. Next was the pricier Carry You Demi Milan, which was soft and folded with the stroller but consequently could only safely carry a completely sealed drink (eg closed water bottle). I finally found a worthwhile product in the Valco.

Pros: very sturdy, tight, doesn't slip, holds a large variety of drinks, minimal spilling of drinks, can stay on when umbrella stroller is folded

Cons: leaves a dent in foam on umbrella handle (not a big deal to me), must turn it for stroller to lay flat when folded and then turn it back when opening stroller, slightly increases the width of your stroller thus decrasing maneuverability in tight spaces

Overall I love this product and highly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cup Holder not only for strollers, March 8, 2007
This review is from: Valco Baby Universal Cup Holder, Black (Baby Product)
This cup holder works great. I attached it to a pull cart that I needed at work to put books, etc. in after I had foot surgery. It also works on walkers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for Valco strollers, May 15, 2010

I have a Baby Jogger City Double. Any one familiar with Baby Jogger will tell you they make awesome strollers, but rip you off on the accessories. Not that Valco's are cheap; they're pricey too.

That being said, I saw this in Buy Buy Baby (Bed, Bath & Beyond's answer to Babies R Us). It was a couple dollars cheaper, and with my 20% off coupon, it was even less.

The best thing is this is a universal mount. It works well holding my travel coffee mug or my Kleen Kanteen. It was a little tricky to install, but take a few minutes to read the instructions and you'll get it.

I purchased this for my Maclaren stroller and I hated it. It would not hold my drink upright and got in the way when I folded the stroller. I ended up splurging and getting the Maclaren organizer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does its job but a couple of caveats..., June 12, 2008
This review is from: Valco Baby Universal Cup Holder, Black (Baby Product)
The Valco Universal Cup Holder fulfills its purpose in life; it holds many different sizes of cups and stays afixed to a stroller.

However, it was relatively difficult to attach to the stroller, both because of the need for force and because the directions were godawful. It also sometimes gets in the way of folding our Maclaren Quest, but this is manageable.

Overall, it is a decent product, but clearer instructions and easier installation would push it up to 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fits a Bugaboo Frog., May 4, 2007
This review is from: Valco Baby Universal Cup Holder, Black (Baby Product)
Fits a Bugaboo Frog, and doesn't look out of place.

I got this before Bugaboo introduced a cup holder within their accessories range. It has been great as many past Bugaboo owners can probably attest to by not having a cup holder.

The product is easy to install, and by placing it at the end of the handle it is pretty stable. Nothing particularly special about the plastic moulding, though some of edging is a bit sharp and could do with a bit of rounding off.

Although it does have a gap to allow for cups with handles it doesn't really go far enough down which means the cup kind of hangs a bit.

Bottom line is that it does what it says, hold cups.
