5.0 out of 5 stars Good CD.... for rock fans only though..., June 11, 2003

Let's get right to the point... If you don't like hard rock/techno, don't buy this cd. Just look at who's on it and you should know. Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Orgy, Deftones, Snake River Conspiracy, etc. Every song goes well with the movie except for Son Song, which is not Sean Lennon on his own, it is with Soulfly. I love this cd and just recently found it, so I have been listening to it non-stop. It doesn't get old at all, which is a good mark for any cd....

4.0 out of 5 stars well above average soundtrack, August 28, 2001

This is a great soundtrack. to tell the truth, i've never seen the movie, but who cares with the great songs on here. first off it's worth buying in my opinion for a cool "hybrid mix" of one of my favorites songs of all time filter's "take a picture". it's a great mix. from there you got huge bands like disturbed, static x, linkin park, deftones, orgy, and soulfly contribuiting great songs, especially soulfly. It's also got a great song by proffessional murder music, and band which in my opinion should get alot more attention then they do. but overall this is a great soundtrack to add to anyones rock music collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Question..., March 23, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
There is a song that occurs in the movie where Kate Capshaw has just finished sleeping with her boyfriend. It's kind of a soft, triphop styled song. Anyone have any clue what that song is and/or who it is by? I tried checking the song listings at imdb.com, but they only have this soundtrack listed. Any help is appreciated.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOOKING FOR THAT MISSING SONG?, March 23, 2011
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
If you are one of the many looking for that song that was not included in the soundtrack, well look no further...The song is a Trip Hop song. The song is called "So Sweet" by Sandy Brown. She was in the band Hypnogaja for some vocals and the song is credited under her and under the band Hypnogaja. Since Hypnogaja was a a signed band...the song appears under their name upon release. She does Electronic/Indie/Trip Hop music and does a ton of work for movie soundtracks. Unfortunately she mostly is not credited. Don't know why. But you can find the song on her site or the Rock band: Hypnogaja. Type in the name in Youtube as well. I also have the song if you want an mp3 of it. The same thing happened to many commercials and movies that play Trip Hop music but never credit them. (Jerks) Even though I like Trip Hop music remaining underground and mostly a British thing. :) One big trip hop song that sent many looking for it as well was the song: "Hold Me" by Saphir Cristal, which appeared in the Axe leather body wash commercial.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome soundtrack!, February 26, 2001
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
"Valentine" is an excellent soundtrack. It has a lot of good music from some of the best modern heavy metal bands such as Linkin Park, Disturbed, Orgy and many others. "Opticon" by Orgy is my favorite song on the cd. I could listen to it for hours.
Rob Zombie has a pretty good "Porno Holocaust" remix of "Superbeast", though I prefer the version on the "End of days"
soundtrack. I prefer the LP cut of Static-x's "Love Dump" over the "Mephisto Odyssey's Voodoo mix". Disturbed does a good job with "God of the mind", and I like Deftones' "RX Queen".

"Valentine" is a no-brainer for Hard rock and Heavy Metal fans, but if your not into either of these genres of music, you may want to here the demo's on W.B.'s "Valentine" website before you purchase this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great rock music, February 3, 2001

I haven't seen the movie because I've heard that it is horrible, but when I heard a listing of the artists on the soundtrack, I went out and bought this on the day it came out. Almost all of the songs can be found on the artists' albums, but I love this soundtrack; a lot of the songs have very catchy tunes and/or mixes, demented love song lyrics, and an overall great industrial sound. The best songs: Linkin Park's "Pushing Me Away," Deftones' "RX Queen," Orgy's "Opticon," Professional Murder Music's "Fall Again," and Snake River Conspiracy's "Breed." These songs are awesome and I keep them on repeat. If you like the soundtracks for Scream 3 and Dracula 2000, then you'll love this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth Anything for God of the Mind, October 10, 2001
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
The C.D. is great, but it has a (somewhat) unreleased track from disturbed, stop the presses. Manson, Static-X, Deftones, and Disturbed, a great soundtrack to a fairly sucky movie. This gets da seal.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 and a half really...but it's still good, August 16, 2005
By
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
it's pretty good despite the fact that soulfy and beautiful creatures don't really belong here. i thought it'd would've been just a smidge better with something else in there. anywho, perhaps the funniest thing about this soundtrack is the fact that its one of the rare few soundtracks made with the intent of being as clean as possible without really having to edit any tracks. proof of this is static-x's track. in the movie you clearly hear the album version of 'love dump' but here...a remix to skirt the explictives. it's not entirely bad considering this is a fine remix. as the description states, all of these tracks have been released before. with the exception of the filter track, i have no clue where to find that one...but it's a great track as well.

in the end...
it's something you might want to listen to if only for the 3 hard to find tracks. your friends might think you're just a bit cooler for having them in your catalogue hehe.

5.0 out of 5 stars crappy movie, great soundtrack, September 6, 2004
This review is from: Valentine (2001 Film) (Audio CD)
for such an unbelievably crappy horror flick i had to ask myself why would they make such a good soundtrack, then i thought back to what they did for spawn. the soundtrack enhanced an otherwise unbearable movie into watchable. i am a huge fan of static x and marilyn manson and i like linkin park and rob zombie (loved white zombie) and so don't bother getting the movie, just buy the soundtrack. if you are a fan of hard rock, this is for you.

the love dump remix from static x, opticon from orgy, smartbomb from bt, and fall again from professional murder music were the highlights of this soundtrack. if you want a compilation of great music, then here you go.
