Can Irina surprise Caleb?,
By
This review is from: Valentine Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Caleb is a player and loves the lifestyle-fast cars, pretty women and his freedom! He and his many lovers have been at his house living this wonderful way. He's had a live-in housekeeper, Irina, for the last 2 years, a young woman from a war-torn country, that has seen him in action, and he and his lovers naked too. She's the best housekeeper he's ever had plus he likes her and wouldn't want to do without her.
Caleb comes home early from work one day and finds her packing--she shows him a letter from the INS that has revoked her asylum and will send her back to Argovia. She tells Caleb she won't go back but will find somewhere else to go. She is desperate he can tell. Caleb doesn't want to lose her so decides he'll marry her! She can't believe him but is frightened to leave his home too. He feels it's only 2 years and she has promised that she'll get involved with him. Off they go to Las Vegas along with his parents, his half-sister, her cousin and his wife. Caleb's Las Vegas cousins and their wives set up the wedding since they have resorts there. It's a lovely wedding and reception too. Now all the hard work begins for both Caleb and Irina. They have feelings for each other, his family knows how Caleb feels, but haven't recognized them. A real surprise is Irina is not who everyone including herself thinks she is. I fell in love with Caleb, we met him in A BRAVO'S HONOR and I thought he was a cutie then. Irina grows so much in this book - it's fun to watch to her "Americanize" herself LOL It's great to watch Caleb lose the "player" way of life too Ms Rimmer has outdone herself with this Bravo!

A Green Card Marriage of Convenience,

This review is from: Valentine Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
Out of all the books about the Bravo Family Ties, this was my favorite. The sex scenes weren't so shocking they made you want to rush over them. It was a well written book.
Irina comes to work for Caleb Bravo as his housekeeper. But when she is threatened to lose her status in the U.S., she panics. Caleb suggests a marriage to protect her. I won't give you all the details but you would need to read it to get the full impact. Caleb was a party machine but Irnia changes him while they are living together as man and wife. Little by little Irnia learns she can unmask things from the past and not be so scared. You learn about life in Argovia. Also you learn how people who immigrant to America feel about being found out and deported. It may change your mind about people who live in countries where they do not have the freedom you do. I am not going to give away the ending of the story because that part is so special, you have to wait to read it. |
