This is a really good EP that has some of Mariah's greatest love songs on it. It also has "Do You Know Where You're Going To" which isn't on any other OF Mariah's US releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must buy for rare cover alone!, May 11, 2006

This special EP was released around Valentines Day in the very late 90's at Walmart. It was an exclusive single and since I am a TRUE Mariah fan, I had to get it.

Do You Know Where You're Going (From Mahogany) is a rare track not found anywhere else and therefore ALL Mariah fans should own this!

That other reviewer who said this should only be for people who are not fans should be ashamed of themselves! How can us Mariah fans get this rare cover without buying this promo? Think about it!

Anyway, I love this cover of Do You Know Where You're Going To! Mariah's vocals are flawless and she hits those high notes like no other singer!

Vision Of Love is one of my all time favorites! It made Mariah a star and it was her first number one single!

Underneath The Stars is an amazing ballad from her Daydream album, very romantic and I love it!

My All is from the Butterfly album and it's one of my favorite ballads from her! Amazing vocals!

Babydoll is another song from Butterfly and it's a really good R&B song! I just love the music and the way Mariah sings!

This is for all Mariah fans, especially for this rare cover! Buy it today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Valentines, Mimi style, January 30, 2012
By

This review is from: Valentines (Audio CD)
Released on January 1, 2000, the Walmart exclusive EP Valentines compiling Mariah's first number one hit (Vision of Love), 1 track from 1995's Daydream LP (fan favorite Underneath the Stars), 2 tracks from the Butterfly record (My All and Babydoll), and (most importantly) a rare cover of Diana Ross' Do You Know Where You're Going To is extremely hard to find and well worth the purchase if you can get it for a reasonable price.

I can't compare Mariah's take on Miss Ross' tune since I haven't heard the original in years, but Mimi turns in a vulnerable peformance that's got just the right amount of emotion aided by her "whispery" voice. "Do you know where you're going to?/Do you like the things that life's been showing you? ... Do you know what you're hoping for?/When you look behind you there's no open door." I like the subtle gospel elements brought by her backup vocalists.

Did you know that this song caused a mini-drama between Mariah and Jennifer Lopez at the time? See, Mariah had intended for it to be a single from her 1998 #1's collection, but J. Lo had just signed to Sony and recorded it for her debut record On the 6. Sony execs decided that both versions would be released outside the States and pressure for Mariah to start work on the Rainbow album (that completed her contract with the label and freed her completely from ex-hubby Tommy Mottola) halted promotion for it. Shame.
