5.0 out of 5 stars Best Budget Belt
Valeo's foam belt line main value is the "memory foam" within the lining. Sampling its use, I tried a bodyweight squat, the movement was uninhibited and the range of motion was smooth. It didn't stop my hips coming up nor stop me from stretching at the bottom. I purchase the belt to protect my spine and increase plate poundage to squat(least used and most misunderstood...

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Quality
I have owned Valeo belts for 20 years and they have been the best. They are now made overseas to such poor quality that I would not purchase one again. This one broke the initial time I used it. The tightening ring was always the weak link in the past, but it would last for years. This ring broke the first time I tightened the belt. I am now looking at other brands.

It didn't stop my hips coming up nor stop me from stretching at the bottom. I purchase the belt to protect my spine and increase plate poundage to squat(least used and most misunderstood exercise-review Starting Strength 2nd and Squat Rx on You Tube), deadlift(lumbar strength) and power clean(explosive movement). True to its "memory foam" claim Valeo's belt conforms around your core immediately rather than over time after a couple or several workout sessions. Although, I question the plastic buckle longevity; one year of use seems realistic, but if in two years I'm still using the same belt then clearly it should be in every olympic, power, and bodybuilding lifter's backpack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Belt!, December 10, 2011

Excellent belt for weightlifting and powerlifting. I chose this belt instead of a 6-inch variety due to weightlifting competition specifications. It is continuously adjustable, stays locked in well, and provides excellent core support.

I suffer from lower back pains especially when doing heavy lifting. This belt is great for helping with this problem. Its the perfect width, very comfortable to wear and the locking is very strong. Bought through amazom and the belt was excatly as described.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is not a lady's belt, November 29, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had a great belt from Valeo - I'm guessing it was 3 inches wide. I lost it and ordered the smallest one I could find from them. This appears to be a men's small, and is huge on me. If I cinch it as far as it will go, it fits, but I can't tuck the excess part under the belt loop. It also is very stiff.
I'm still looking for a woman's belt.
