5.0 out of 5 stars Very good one
I am using it for the past 2 weeks and it had been good till now. I no more get a sore-skin. I could lift more weights now, as I don't feel the pressure on my palms. Above all, its 8+ bucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dangerous Product
Bottom line: Valeo makes shoddy products. I bought a pair of valeo weight lifting hooks to help with deadlifts and after three weeks one of the D-rings snapped. Luckily I wasn't seriously hurt, but I don't like to think of what might have happened if I had lost control of the weight. The moral of this story: don't cheap out on safety equipment.

1.0 out of 5 stars These hooks are unusable, May 31, 2009
This review is from: Performance Lifting Gloves (Sports)
I bought these awhile ago. I wanted to use them for deadlifts and 400 lb shrugs. I realize the shrugs might be over-doing it, but my deadlifts were a moderate weight. In both cases, the hooks slipped, and as one other person mentioned, they failed one time. Sorry, I can't recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, October 3, 2007

For $8.50 I wasn't expecting quality this good. The gloves fit my hand perfectly and don't have any areas that irritate the skin. A very good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Valeo Weight Lifting Hooks, February 21, 2007
This review is from: Performance Lifting Gloves (Sports)
Great product-great price. I wear these to reduce the fatigue in my hands while strengthening with several universal weight machines. They are good for "assisting" while lifting light weights. I wouldn't rely solely on them for heavy lifting or in place of using my hands.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very low quality - wears down and holes within first 5 uses, July 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my experience with these gloves.

After the first use I could already notice considerable wearing down in the left glove across the whole grip area. After the third use, the left glove had huge holes on the three middle fingers on the area covering them.
Consider that I'm not even a big guy (only 155 lbs) so it's not like I lift too heavy!

I''m pretty sure it's not a size mismatch case because the gloves fit perfectly (medium)... they are snug but not too tight!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Padding, Great Glove, July 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had these gloves for a few months before someone picked them up from the gym I work out at. They were great while I had them though. I have very sensitive hands that get calloused quite easily. These gloves were amazing though. They were really comfortable, had great padding (but didn't interfere with my grip), and were quite cheap. Altogether, I don't know how you could beat this deal.

Obviously, because I only had them for such a short period of time, I can't really comment on durability. However, I did use them rather frequently while I had them, and they seemed to have been holding up just fine. My experiences with Valeo in the past have also been quite good.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars right size, good product, March 27, 2011

Great value- good product-
brand name is largely displayed on the front of the glove- in black- so since black on black- aethestically it is alright. My husband likes these- they are better his last pair and at a better price.

quick and easy purchase!

1.0 out of 5 stars not well designed, March 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Performance Lifting Gloves (Sports)
I bought 4 pairs of these -- one for each son. We had been sharing a pair that finally wore out after 10 years -- the name had rubbbed off so I am not sure what the long lasting ones were. These Valeo hooks are not designed properly. They do not have an open enough curve to fit around the slightly wider than barbell handles on machines, and the hook is too long relative to where it attaches around the wrist. They were cheap in price and the performance followed. We do not even use them.

4.0 out of 5 stars decent, March 4, 2011
This review is from: Performance Lifting Gloves (Sports)
I would not obviously use these for every exercise every day I work out... however After I had bicep surgery I picked these up to help because my grip was not like it used to be. Nor was the strength in my wrist. They have worked great for 315lb shrugs and dead lifts. They also hold 115lb dumbbells without issue. I would take caution when if you use them for chin-ups because when you are fatigued the hooks remain hooked and it is a little difficult to release yourself. A con I have with this item is that if you use them on any type of press exercise is that the metal buckle WILL dig into the back of your hand and it is not pleasant. I have been using the same pair for over 2 years now and I have had no issue with the hook breaking. The cloth cover has worn off from the bar just tearing it up. I would recommend this product for moderate use. Most exercises you want to have a strong grip anyway. I think they are better than the wrap straps myself.
