Since I was a kid, I've slept on average about 4 hours of sleep a night. More than this is spectacular, and I can function on as little as 1-2 hours for about a week... but I WANT SLEEP!! I have absolutely no problem falling asleep, it's the staying asleep that I can't seem to do. I've tried almost every sleeping medication as well as plenty of others - but nothing but stronger benzos [tranquilizers] work to help that along, and since I grow tolerant to meds very quickly, I couldn't take those but a few times a week. Time-release melatonin is the only thing I've found that works...but for some reason I have a problem: it only works when I have a very specific amount of food exactly one hour before going to bed...a ridiculous hassle [that I've never heard of anyone having!]

Valerian root tincture is something I've been very familiar with for anxiety, and it works great. When I found the time-release, I had high hopes.

Pros: feel absolutely great in the morning - very well rested
Cons: don't sleep any longer than normal.

I doubt anyone else will have the problem with sleeping length [blame that on my whacky metabolism]. I really do recommend this product to people who are having trouble falling or staying asleep.
