Book Description

Just a few miles outside of Albuquerque New Mexico in a remote valley something has gone horribly wrong. To their eternal regret some people have mistaken the screams echoing in the hills as coyotes singing to the moon. When Josey drives his truck down into the valley he quickly learns the disturbing truth. It's not coyotes howling. It's men or what used to be men. Josey discovers that the valley is home to the depraved, the noble, the damned, the innocent, the beautiful, and of course the walking dead. When the least dangerous thing you encounter is an angry rattlesnake you know you've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque.

What kind of zombies are they?
There has been an interesting but ultimately pointless debate going on for years about what constitutes a zombie. Is it a dead person who walks around causing mayhem? Or is it someone who is violently insane and seeks only to kill and destroy? Why not both?

Nestled in a remote valley, the residents of The Albuquerque Springs Trailer Park have lived out there lives nearly forgotten by the rest of the world. The trailer park is home to dozens of illegal immigrants, a hermit who has turned his back on society, a veteran of World War 2, a grumpy old woman, a family of Meth cookers known to local police officials as the Redneck Gourmets, and a beautiful young woman, are just a few.
Life was peaceful and quiet (actually quite boring) until a deadly industrial accident killed Juan, one of the illegal immigrants. His friends and neighbors promised to dispose of the victim's body. Unfortunately, he came back and disposed of them- one mouthwatering bite at a time.

William Robert Bebb: Who is he?

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This is a warning.  This novel deals with the undead and crazy people.  There are very few depictions of ponies prancing gaily across pastures.

BUT there are numerous depictions of violence, blood, mayhem, and gore.  I am writing this warning because someone wrote a rather nasty yet hilarious review of VOD after proudly explaing she couldn't make it through the 2nd chapter due to, among other things that she found distasteful, the "Gross" factor.

Some people might believe a zombie book would be expected to have some "Gross" stuff in it.  How to create a joyous cheerful undead tale is beyond my mental abilities.  Apparently, I was super predictable and presented homicidal zombies as violemt and gross monstrosities. (weeping pitifully)  Don't read this book.  It's gross.

Oh yeah, and some animals die in the story too and some people objected strenuously to that also, but those folks were goofy.  I don't give animals a free pass from ravenous undead because people from some animal rights group says it's naughty to depict animals being eaten and or torn apart by zombies.  That's just silly.  So, do not NOT read VODZTP because of that stupid reason.  I just thought for full disclosure sake I'd mention it.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Twist on the Saying "Trailer Trash" August 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What do you get when you add a antisocial, pot growing vietnam vet, toss in a rich grouchy elderly woman, a dash a war veteran colonel, and throw in a handful of illegal Mexicans turned zombie? You get the recipe for a riveting, engaging book. You get all that and more in this one novel. Trapped in a trailer park set in a valley in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico the survivors wait for some one to rescue them and when they realize that rescue isn't coming, because no one knows what's going on, they have to rely on themselves and each other. THis book give a whole new meaning to the phrase "trailer Trash."

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny Zombie Book October 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The folks that gave this book a low rating must not enjoy zombie horror! Aside from the grammatical errors, I thought the story was well written! Gross in some parts, really funny in others and definitely the brainchild of a twisted mind and twisted sense of humor! I enjoyed this book quite a bit! If you like zombie-end of the world-horror type stories, then this book is definitely for you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read July 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This zombie story was full of action, I liked that there was no slow buildup. The characters were easy to get. The author did say he had put a bit of homour in the story, and yes I did laugh once or twice at some ironic bits. Good ending too, ESP with the cause of the outbreak.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read! January 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I must say I started this book with much trepidation. I was not expecting much especially considering amazon offered it to me as a free read. Well I couldn't have been more wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Constant action, realistic characters all delivered with a dry wit that kept things interesting and amusing. At times I caught myself laughing out loud. Although a huge zombie fan its not very often that I come across a good zombie book. I would definitely recommend this to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great read, funny, sad all rolled up May 7, 2013

I loved the story, it had everything from laughs to tears. Ok so I am strange. But if you read it and you don't feel as I have hit the mark boohoo.
Great young adult book, I'm not a young adult, but I like to read all kinds of stories, there is no sex in it. Yes it's a bit graphic, but look at the name of it. Zombie Trailer Park! I'm not going to spoil any of this for you. I could not put it down and loved the whole thing, the writer goes on in the back about his wife leaving, and he tells us he has made changes and I'm glad he has never took out the parts he tells about, I find his favourite part and mine are nearly the same, I also like the part when young Billy makes the comment about poop... I was laughing out loud at this. The sad parts well we must all live and die.
Great book.
