We bought it to see if the kit could stand up to the elements of the Colorado River Valley winds, sun and other desert elements. Before recommending the kit to friends. We have had one of the Valley Forge, U.S. residential flagpole kits installed in our front year for over 18 months. We installed a spot light next to the ground sleeve, so we could fly it 24 hours a day. We are happy to say that "you can not beat the value received for the money put out" The pole it still up, the plastic clips for the brass grommets on the flag have held up, the halyard rope is still in tack. The flags have had to be changed 3 times over the 18 month period, which is longer than anticipated. Overall quality is a grade of A-. Glad to see it was "Made in the USA". I had my flag pole set up (in cement) and flying the flag without much trouble. The flag is nice and of good quality. The pole seems slightly cheap to me. When I put all the pole sections together they don't make a perfectly straight pole...so the pole leans slightly. I notice things like this but I would guess the average person would just see a nice flag pole. The pole also moves around in the wind more than I thought it would, even without the flag. Overall I would buy it again, but I think if I move and want another flag pole I would go with one that is 1 solid pole without sections.

The week after I put the pole in Hurricane Wilma came through Florida. I easily took the pole apart and left only the bottom section. It was nice being able to take it down and put it back up with little effort.

I live in Colorado at an elevation of 7,800' that is a normally breezy and windy environment. This flag pole lasted exactly 20 days before bending in two approximately 4' above the ground level. The aluminum tubing that is used to manufacture this flag pole is not very substantial and is really only good for mild, windy conditions.

I am so excited about our purchase and everything was exactly as described. The shipping and notification was up-to-date. What we did was purchase 1" schedule 40 PVC pipe and inserted it into the aluminum piping they sent.
We attached it to our fence with straping. We've had some of the stongest winds here since we put it up and all we had to do was take down the flag, the pole was strong and did not sway at all.

After installing my flag kit, I received many compliments. We just have some good wind(50 MPH) for the first time since I installed it and the pole bent. I would not install this pole if you have winds over about 20 MPH

The flag pole "kit" arrived on a Friday. I had the well made flag flying high on Sunday. Real eazy to install and looks great. If you are looking to install a flag pole of your own don't pass this one up.

I've had my flag pole for nine years. I had to increase the amount of cement at the base to keep it from sliding downhill, but it has survived many windy winters - until this one. Past years I used a smaller flag - 3 x 5.' This Sept. 11 I bought a larger, more durable cotton flag. It cost me $35 and my flagpole. Today a strong storm blew through, with high winds and lots of rain. The pole couldn't take it, and it bent at the base from the weight of the wet flag pulling on it. After nine years, I will cut it down. My flagpole may have lasted longer if I'd been smarter. I recommend you use the smaller, lighter nylon flags with yours.

I was very disappointed in the stability of this flag pole. It wobbles and shakes at the joints and is not strong enough to hold a 4' x 6' foot flag nor is it strong enough to hold two flags. I am actually going to have to replace the pole because when I added my USMC flag it bent the pole. The metal actually bent, not the joints so now I have a curved pole. I am going to contact the manufacture as well.

While I am happy with flying Old Glory on this pole I am upset that the company did not state that the pole WAS MADE IN CHINA, had I know this I would not have bough it. As a low labor item one of the 4 foot section was banged on the female end, I had to round it with a hammer in order to fit it. The rope tie down is located in the second pole section making it way too high for the correct feeling of a flag pole.

I have had such good luck ordering products from Amazon.com due to honest customer reviews, my thanks to everyone who goes the effort. Well, let me pass on my experience of this flag kit to you. I purchased it mainly due to the positive reviews and the price (under $100!!). Received the flag kit within a week and this was the exact flag that was selling in the local big-box lumber store for $139. OK, good start. Opened package and had flag up in 2hrs. I dug a hole 3-4' deep, put a 12" Sonitube in it, filled the tube with concrete with a piece of 4' PVC I had lying around. The flag pole fit into the PVC exactly with no play. (Lucked out there!). I installed the pole at 20ft, but felt that by removing a 4' section, the 16' pole was plenty high enough and due to the shortened length was much more stable in windy conditions. If you live in a windier area I strongly suggest trying this shorter 16' height (still looks plenty high enough for a residential flag), plus you have a spare section if you need it. Flag itself is made of lightweight, bright, durable nylon material that flows nicely in the wind. All in all, this flag is a fantastic buy!!!!!
