One would think that a flag kit would be designed for outdoor use, but not this one. The three-piece pole turns out to be thinly-plated steel that has rusted along its entire length in less than a week of outdoor use. The eagle at the top turns out to be a...plastic thing that when inserted in the top spins around in the wind...

we got our flag and was quite thrilled to receive it. we put it together, didn't have any trouble there except the eagle wouldn't stay in. when we attached the hardware to the house and put the flag in, the flag pole wouldn't stay in so we had to screw that into the hardware also. the poles rusted after the first rain and after the first wind storm the flag pole bent in half and broke. waste of money!

The aluminum pole has collapsed several times (it's in 3 pieces) and the flag attaches to one side of the pole with plastic pushins. You'll end up buying a better one in the end - save yourself a headache and buy a better one in the first place!

I received my flag as promised with in about 7 to 10 days. I opened it and was disappointed because I saw it was not exactly as described on line, it was cheap looking and when I tried to put it together the metal rods would not slide into each other very easy (one of the rods was bent). I tried to force it and it slipped and the sharp metal edge slashed two knuckles on my right hand. Looking at the cuts on my hand I knew the metal had done some serious damage to my middle knuckle I drove myself to the emergency room where I got 7 stiches. Since I just decided to go into business for myself I quit my job and lost my medical insurance and had to pay the 300.00 bill plus the bill for the cheap flag. I never received my free pinwheel that was promised as a free item with the purchase of my flag just an email 2 weeks after I got my flag stating the pinwheels were not available after all. If you buy the flag becareful they are dangerous if defective.

Very light weight. Bracket bent with first hard wind, allowing flag to dip close to the ground. Reinforced it with large nails and now it keeps the flag high. Heads of screws either stripped or broke off. But, it is cheap, and worth about what I paid for it. The flag itself is better quality than the rest of the kit.
Poles and eagle all fit together properly. Several rains and no rust on poles, yet.

This is an economy answer to U.S. flag kits costing 25 to 50 dollars. This kit is inexpensive enough to replace every few years.

I saw some reviews on here regarding the flag and almost didn't buy it because of something about wrong pole or something.

But for $15, I was willing to take a chance: What the hell, it's only $15 bucks. Why would Amazon sell a flag with a wrong pole? ... I'm thinking.
The actual flag is great and the pole comes in three segments that's interlocking (most likely for shipping reasons).
Works and waves great in San Diego, CA. The steel mounting bracket is very simple and cheap looking (almost like a Chinese-made product, but screws into one of my Wooden beams easily.
The Eagle tip is painted or gold plastic, but from five feet or 100feet away, who cares?

Again, for $15 Bucks it's a steal and it got here in two days with my Amazon Prime.

I was hesitant to order this flag pole set as there were several reviews that rated it poorly. Most had to do with the pole rusting or bending. DSince I had owed previous such poles I nevertheless decided to order two sets. They arrives well packaged and I assembled them in a very few minutes. I wanted the flags for an upcoming Veteran Day parade. The flags and pole are certainly not strong enough to withstand a 60MPH run down the road however they are sturdy enough to carry in slow moving parade. I put one on each side of the car and they worked really well. Sine it is a Veteran's Dat parade I am giving one to a veteran along the route and the other I will fly in my back yard. Now about the rusting---I have not owned this one long enough to see if rust will develop however the one I am replacing has been outside for over a year, it looks just like this one and nI see no signs of rust. Perhaps that may be because we live in a hot climate. I would purchase the product again.

a real quality flag. very good construction. sturdy pole hold up in the wind. great price. delivered in one day!

I've had this flag for over a year. It hasn't lost it colors and it hasn't frayed at all. The only issue I have is with the steel bracket. It's not strong enough. I've had to re-shaped it to hold the flag upright.
