Genealogical Gemstone, August 24, 2003
This review is from: The Valley of the Remsheg: A History of Wallace Bay and a genealogical record of the descendants of six founding families (Publication / North Cumberland Historical Society) (Hardcover)
The Valley of The Remsheg proves to be an informative resource. It contains some narrative history of the settling of Wallace Bay, Nova Scotia and the genealogical lineages of six of the founding families.
This book is a must have for anyone researching the Brown, Piers/Peers, Tuttle, McKim, Wells, and Forshner families of Cumberland County Nova Scotia.
These founding families were United Empire Loyalists from Westchester County New York prior to settling Wallace Bay. The records begin with the generation who fought in the American Revolution through to the mid 1970's. The sources for the information in the book were varied and vast. Hence, they are not cited. However, the book is published under the auspices of the North Cumberland County Historical Society.
The genealogical records for my branch of the Piers family listed in this book proved to be accurate.
