5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Travel Trailer RV Tire Chock
I ordered two of these Valterra Products A10-0908 Red Wheel Chocks with Nylon Cord. I love them. I tried making my own chocks out of 4 x 4 blocks, but they look kind of... well, you know. These Red Chocks are the perfect size for my 27' travel trailer's tires. They slide right in behind and in front of the tires securely. One chock is on gravel, the other up on wood...

3.0 out of 5 stars Made of plastic, not rubber
Got a set of these wheel chocks because I was tired of my wife running over the hollow plastic kind (those that are stackable) and crushing them.

As other reviewers have mentioned, these chocks are sold as singles, so order two of them if you need a pair. The chocks are made of hard plastic (and not rubber as mentioned in another product review) but they...

Got a set of these wheel chocks because I was tired of my wife running over the hollow plastic kind (those that are stackable) and crushing them.

As other reviewers have mentioned, these chocks are sold as singles, so order two of them if you need a pair. The chocks are made of hard plastic (and not rubber as mentioned in another product review) but they seem to be well supported internally and hopefully won't crush unless she builds up a head of steam and peels out on top of them. I wish they were rubber, not plastic.

I do think the red color will make them more visible than our current black set so maybe they won't be missed as much when in place. They are a bit smaller than I expected.

One chock is on gravel, the other up on wood blocks to level the trailer. Both chocks feel secure and don't feel like they will slip out. I love the nylon cord I can give a tug and pull the chock free.

Definitely order two of these so you will have a pair. I am seriously considering two more. For under ten bucks for a pair... Yep, I'm ordering two more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wheel Chock, December 13, 2010

This is a very nice (and very reasonably priced!) wheel chock. It is sturdy, with solid reinforcements. Both critical edges have teeth, one set to grab the tire and the other to grab the road surface, so that it doesn't slip. The cord is cute, but I have found that kicking the chock is an easier way to disengage it. But it looks better and works better than the 4x4 wood that I had been using previously. I bought 4 for two different trailers.

Yes, these are wheel chocks. They're not fancy, but they will hold a round piece of rubber just fine.

I bought a pair of these to use when working on my car. (A Toyota Corolla) These are bright, and built pretty sturdy. I kicked these under my tires and the car didn't even budge an inch. I would also like to add that I was working on asphalt and not dirt or grass. I would definitely recommend these to use with small cars.

We ordered a pair of these based to some extent on other reviews (they do come by-the-each so order two). What we like best about them is the hefty teeth, top and bottom. There are lots of wheel chocks available through Amazon, but these seem to have the most aggressive teeth, therefore the least likely to slip, and having used them all 2011 season so far we are not disappointed. Last season I was carrying some 2x6's for leveling and chocking, but the heavy stuff was bouncing around inside our trailer and worked its way to the kitchen cabinets where it damaged the finish. I concluded that lightweight plastic thingies made for various specific purposes were the way to go, and the 2x6's made a nice morning fire.

For some reason I expected a pair of them... It's a nice chock though, and I'm ordering a mate for it...

These work beautifully on my compact tractor. Nice hard resin, good tread. Lightweight. String is a nice feature just for hanging them up somewhere.

The only problem is I should have bought two, one for each side. I like the lightwieght and bright color.

I have used the metal flap kind, and the cheap black plastic kind, and only for a difference of a few dollars these are far better. It really "grips" the tires and the tires will not budge. The plastic is not as strong as I'd like, and will break if you accidently forget and drive over them, but they do their job. I have seen heavier rubber ones that are better but they are more expensive. This product is a good compromise in quality and price. After-all, i just wanted to be safe and I wanted it to be cheap, and it has done both of these things. I recommand these over the flap kind and the black plastic kind.
