5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Alternative, July 30, 2010

This review is from: Valterra F02-4100 45° RV Hydroflush (Automotive)
The hydroflush does a great job of back-flushing the RV waste water tanks and gave me the least number of setbacks from other methods of rinsing out the black water tank. After doing a little research, I have weighted the online reviews, talked to other RVers and narrowed the different possibilities to four methods. First, the bag-of-ice method is cheap and viable but the disadvantage is finding another RV dump when you get home. The down-side of the rotary-tank rinser is the clogging of the spinner and complaints of low pressure cleaning. Finally, the through-the-toilet rinse rod may create a tense marriage-life from all the yelling, back and forth between the outside spouse controlling the water faucet and dump valve and the inside person doing the coordinating! The hydroflush was the lesser of all the evils... simple backflush design... anti-siphon minimizes the mess... and single person operation!

5.0 out of 5 stars RV Flushing Adapter, February 5, 2008

The Valterra RV Hydroflush elbow works great to flush your tanks. The clear design lets you see when tanks are drained. The anti-siphon valve doesn't allow waste to enter your water hose. We really like this unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars WORKS PERFECT !!! Wouldnt Go Without Now!, June 7, 2011

This review is from: Valterra F02-4100 45° RV Hydroflush (Automotive)
This does what its suppose to... attach it to the tank and then your hose to this... use the anti-siphon attachment (keeps from letting contaminated water back into your hose line..comes with it) before the hose and when you open and it seems done and cleaned out.... turn on the hose and spray inside your tank for a minute and watch (if your stomach can handle it) what you end up leaving in your tank that you are unaware of. I only have a black tank no grey in my old trailer so the one straight shot is perfect. This is also nice cause when I done cleaning out the tank I normally add in water by just taking the hose directly in the toilet or running my pump to add a few gallons of water in the tank before dropping in the green tablet. With this you can completely clean out your tank 99% and then when the water flows clear turn on the water and the spray it puts out doesn't let a lot of water rush out when spraying so you can fill it up with a few gallons as it sprays then close the handle to your tank and there you go you've got some fresh water in your black tank ready to drop in your anti smell tablets! Also when you close your handle you can leave the water on and let it spray out this hydroflush and also the hose. Normally you would have to disconnect your hose and then spray it out while its open and have a chance of it splashing on you somehow before its clean... now you leave it attached while your tank is closed off and let its clean itself out. This thing is AWESOME!!! If you have dual tank and need to spray to the left they have a dual spray hydroflush as well.
For the ease of use and convenience of this thing I would have paid twice as much... so for this price it was money VERY WELL SPENT!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to see it, this is it!, January 11, 2011

I use this item when dumping the holding tanks of my fifth wheel toy hauler. I like the fact that it is see through, so that I can tell when the black tank is finished emptying and can also tell when the water is running clear during the flush stage. I love the fact that you can connect a hose and flush the final pipes that the tanks flow into. Overall this is a very useful product and I have recommended it to several friends who have all had similar experiences with it. Disclaimer: If you have not interested/have issues with seeing the contents of your black tank running through the drainage pipes, then this is not the item for you. I have a friend who will literally throw up at the sight of the emptying liquid, he does not use this product, he prefers to wait 5 mins whilst the tanks are dumping and come back!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lifesaver, October 4, 2010

Without this product, It would be very difficult to know when you're coming to the end of dumping your waste. When your flushing your tank out, it's extremely helpful to see if your making progress in cleaning out your tanks. I would highly recommend getting the hydroflush when you by a macerator jet pump.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great in combination with a macerator pump, January 16, 2012
This review is from: Valterra F02-4100 45° RV Hydroflush (Automotive)
I use this in combination with a macerator pump for my RV. Since impeller pumps will burn out quickly when run dry, I can tell almost immediately when the amount of stuff from black/grey tanks is done, so I can flip the pump off, let things fill up, then power the pump back on to get the last amount of stuff through the lines.

The anti-siphon attachment goes on the end of the hose that connects to the macerator pump when the hose is not in use (and is removed before re-attaching it to the pump). This prevents back flow.

Found this to be very helpful to have a visible indication when all is clear & a slight angle to connect lines to.Our system has a built in hose flush & with this, we now have two places to connect fresh water to. It made an unpleasant job a little easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes the dump station fun - almost..., September 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Valterra F02-4100 45° RV Hydroflush (Automotive)
This product works beautifully. I open my black tank until all the fluid etc stops running. Then turn on the hose and let it run until I see water start to come back out. Shut the water off and ho-lee-cow - like I never dumped in the first place. Repeated until the water runs clear and I have confidence that my tank is clean. I then repeated for the gray tank and while not quite as dramatic, it still works just as well.

Best part, I stand there perfectly dry and away from the mess while the dude behind me holds the sewer hose over his head with the dump station hose shoved in. Not sure how he doesn't end up looking like Robin Williams in RV...

You do end up using a lot of water.
