Can Take Only So Much Rip-Off, August 4, 2009
This review is from: Value Eyes Plastic Frames 6 Pack - 6 for $11.99 - Your Reading Glasses Everywhere!! Where Do You Need an Extra Pair? (Eyewear)
OK, I didn't expect much; but I got less, too much less this time. Like somebody else reviewing these, I got all one color (brown) instread of the assortment shown. I can deal with this and brown is fine.
What I cannot deal with is that these are not the same glasses pictured at all! These are the narrow,women-who-feel-womanly type things that are impossible for normal seeing... like viewing a computer monitor.
Quality? Well, I didn't expect a lot on that score either; but these actually are worse than expected. They are the same quality as I got 10 for ten bucks through one of those chinzy mail-order places, where you really don't expect much. All but one of those are broken now. I hid that one.
These aren't worth sending back; I'll give them away. To somebody with a small head.
ADDENDUM SEPTEMBER 14. After seeing this review (and I think more definitely my seller feedback), Boomer contacted me. I cannot accept their excuse that a line does say styles and colors may vary, because this nevertheless is vague and not enough to overcome the photo. "Styles" means there can be a difference between men's and women's? OK, technically, maybe so; but come on, guys!
This isn't really fair to the consumer and should definitely be clarified. It still hasn't been changed, and that's disapponting, since it's been brought to their attention more than once. If you want to be fair to customers, I really think you can do something about this -- like send them something closer to what they order at least. But change the darn ad, too.
I mentioned I was in advertising in my previous life? Well, if this were a clent of mine, I wouldn't allow something like this out of my typewriter. You see, all ad agencies aren't out to mislead the cnnsumer; but someone does need to watch the company doing their own advertising. "Anything goes" with some.
Along with that, I still have no confidence that the quaity of these el cheapos has improved. I doubt it. I still haven't found anyone who will accept them, free.
Still, I'll put in a good word. The Boomer guy offered a refund; but could only work it as credit. I told him I'd accept a single pair of bifocal sunglasses, around the same price, if they looked like the photo. They seem fine, nice in fact; but I haven't really used them yet.
At least Boomer tried to make it up to me... one customer who took the time to speak up, publicly. I still don't like that they are playing games with all the other customers. Kinda like saying "I'm sorry for hitting you with that snowball and I'll get you a new hat," to the one person who shouts; then throwing snowballs at everybody else who walks down the street.
I was next asked to remove my seller feedback; but I can't because nothing has been corrected. I would change that review; but it seems all or nothing, and I didn't know I was involved in some sort of "deal." I hope this addendum will satify everybody.

Value Eyes Reading Glasses, July 3, 2008
I was not satisfied with this order for three reasons:
1. The frames of 3 of the 6 pair broke after a few times of use.
2. I received only one color (black), although the picture of the item showed a variety of colors.
3. The shipping cost for an item of this size and cost were excessive ($5.99 shipping on a $10.99 package)

Great Value- fair glasses at a great price, April 17, 2009
I have read several reviews on these glasses. I want to be clear- I bought six pair of reading glasses for $12. I am not expecting custom quality.
The glasses look ok and are as durable as glasses I pay $12 a pair for at the grocery store. They are light weight and do the job. If they become damaged or lost, I do not miss them. I keep them stashed in my car, coat, desk, at work and so on. I would recommend them (for what they are) and would buy them again.
