I enjoy writing because, for me, it is a way of speaking to people I'll never meet. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and experiences and what I've learned or discovered.

While I may share concrete experiences what always drives my writing are larger concepts. Often what I write about is a new way of thinking about something or a trend that I see coming. I like to turn ideas and experiences upside down and analyze meanings from different perspectives. I also like to weave together separate ideas or trends which have been segmented in the larger consciousness but share interesting relationships or similarities.

Sometimes what appears in my writing is completely spontaneous -- the act of writing itself becomes the genesis for discovery. When I am writing, I get the most enjoyment from genres where I can create the space required for readers to have a conversational experience -- a discovery of your own thoughts, feelings and aha moments. I want you to make your own connections and create your experience and I see the written page as the vehicle to a truth you may already have (partially) known all along.

This is an incredibly timely book. In the wake of many corporate scandals, this book points the way out of this mess. But it isn't a preachy ethics book - it's practical and hardnosed when it comes to making money. Every business person should read it - twice!

It isn't just for business people, however. It's about anyone who works in an organization and wants that organization to be more effective, more responsible, and more sustainable. I'm on the board of a non-profit, and I'm going to buy it for all my fellow board members. I think it will also make a great secret-Santa gift for my boss!

This short and concise book should be on the required reading list for all business school students and faculty,accountants, lawyers,CEO"s,CFO"s, corporate directors and shareholders. It emphasizes thhe view that there are other measurements of corporate responsibility than the "bottom line".

Such ideas as openbook accounting,executive pay for performance,independent outside directors,workforce diversity,and shareholder rights are advocated.

Value-Led Organizations, by Eleanor Bloxham is a must for all companys, organiztions and those interested in money management. If corporations such as we have read, and heard about so often in the news these past few months had heeded what is expounded on in this book, we would not be in the terrible mess we now are. A must reading for financial people.
