I bought the ValueRays mouse thinking my days of frozen hands were going to be over with. The heating portion of the mouse only lasted one week. I emailed the company and they told me I had to buy the warranty when I made the purchase to get it fixed. No where does it mention that on the amazon page. So the device pretty much only serves as a mouse now. Funny how no more heat but yet the mouse actually still works.

UPDATE: The company has allowed me to buy a warranty for $15 and they are shipping me a new mouse. The customer service is pretty fast and better than what I really expected. I'm giving this another try because when the mouse did work it was excellent. I just need something that can last from 9-5 and then some for at least a year. I don't care if I have to replace the mouse every year, but every week/month won't work.

I did not purchase the warranty ($10 extra) and the mouse did not work from the minute I plugged it in. It heated up nicely but the mouse would not function. Without the extra cost, there is NO warranty, not even if it NEVER works! There is no way to even contact the vendor! They don't give any phone number, only email. So I emailed them and got NO RESPONSE! So beware, they can ship you a piece of garbage and you are stuck with it, which is what happened to me.

Revision :
After I tried another email address, they did get back to me promptly and sent me another mouse. However I had to pay shipping both ways and they insist the original mouse worked fine which it did not. I now have 2 of them but the 1st one still does not work. The 2nd one is wonderful and works great. It keeps my hand warm all day.

I been using the heated mouse and mousepad for about a year and having the warmth is really great. My hands were constantly uncomfortably cold from using the mouse and keyboard in a work environment and this allows me to get my work done much more enjoyably.

The mouse pointer works well however the scroll dial does not. Turning the scroll wheel causes the scrolling to often go the opposite way and then jump all over the place. I wish it worked because I love using the wheel + Ctrl key to zoom in and out. I also wish the mouse was available in a larger size as I have large hands. However even with these complaints, the warmth makes it worth it.

If cold hands aren't an issue for you, this isn't a good product for you. But if you suffer from cold hands when using the computer and don't mind the issues I mentioned, I would recommend this.

This little mouse perfoms adequately. It's certainly cheaply made, with an incomplete paint job. As a mouse it functions just fine, if a bit minimalist. (There are no forward or back buttons, etc) It's optical, which helps a lot. The cord is a bit short, which is frustrating for me. I can't speak to the longevity of the product, as I just started using it. I wanted it for it's heating function, and it does that fairly well so far. There are two settings for heat, LOW and HIGH. I use the HIGH setting and find it to be great.

I got this mouse since I always have cold hands, and my mouse hand gets especially cold. It was amazing for the year that I had it. Kept my hand very warm without being too hot.

Then one day I dropped. Not hard, not far, but it broke. It was obviously very cheaply made. I would say if you can get one on sale, go for it, but don't pay too much.

Follow-up Review:

While, initially, I was in love with this product, unfortunately, I am again without my heated mouse due to it losing functionality... Within the first few months, I went through 2 heated mouses (mice?); the first one fell off of my end table onto my hardwood floor. The mouse itself still "worked", but the scroll wheel was then knocked off its track, and I use that wheel constantly throughout the day, as I work in finance and am in and out of multiple reports and spreadsheets all day long. I figured this was my fault (even though the drop was less than 2' from table to floor), and I ordered a new one, because I simply love the heat feature (which works perfectly, BTW).

The second mouse broke in the exact same way. I was working in my living room on a TV tray (probably about 3' from the floor this time), and one of my animals came running by and its tail caught the USB cord on the mouse, sending it falling to the ground; but this time, it landed on my high pile, very plush carpet. Immediately, the scroll wheel was broken... Now, I have randomly dropped mouses in the past (I never actually realized how often it can happen, if you work from a laptop like I do and are constantly traveling and moving about); I have never had a mouse break or lose part of its functionality (the wheel) so easily as this one had. So, this time, I actually wrote the supplier and explained what had happened, and they sent me a replacement mouse FREE of charge and thanked me for being a loyal customer. This was fantastic customer service and I was simply thrilled to, once again, have my heated mouse back!

Now, here I am again. Finger tips are freezing and I thought I'd write a follow-up review, as I am again without my heated mouse...
