Doll Values remains the number one best selling doll book at Collector Books, and with good reason. It represents distinguished coverage in a dandy format. Some 500 color photographs supplement the book's more than 60,000 listings from advertising dolls to efforts of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s. Those listings are complete with 2007 values. Doll Values is laid out in basic alphabetical order, but it avoids specific antique and modern sections.
About the Author
Linda Edward is a doll researcher and the curator of The Doll Museum in Portsmouth, RI. Her past experience includes being editor of Doll News, the magazine published for UFDC members. Her museum collection encompasses dolls from the 18th century to the present, including antique and modern play dolls, artist pieces, and fashion dolls.

The 9th updated and expanded edition of "Doll Values: Antique To Modern" is a justifiable best-seller because it is a 'must' for any dedicated doll collector. "Doll Values" nicely pairs clear, small color photos with the latest doll values, offers a starting point for building up a reference library, and helps classify different styles and types of dolls. "Doll Values" is a 'must' for any serious collector - and many a general-interest library holding will also find it an important and popular addition to their Antiques/Collectibles reference collections.

This is another excellent entry in a series of very useful books. Good basic information on a variety of doll makers, good illustrations. I like the range of values given for dolls depending on the condition, since not all dolls are mint, and there can be an enormous difference between fair conditon and excellent.
