Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Valve Primer (Hardcover)
I teach equipment fundamentals at nuclear power plants. This is a very straightforward well written little book on basic valve construction. It covered most of the Knowledge and Abilities required on this subject by the NRC. If you want basic training on valves, pick up a copy.

An Excellent Introduction and Reference on Valves,
By
This review is from: The Valve Primer (Hardcover)
I use this book as an introduction to valves for new members of Staff and customers who wish to learn more. The book gives a good grounding in Valve Basics, Design Features, Materials, Flow and even has a chapter on Valve Repair. There are a few diagrams and useful tables too. I find that everyone that has a copy always keeps close to hand as a useful reference.
The book is almost impossible to get hold of in the UK so many thanks to Amazon for keeping my shelf well stocked.

Great Intro Into The World of Valves,
By
This review is from: The Valve Primer (Hardcover)
This book does an excellent job of giving a brief introduction into the various types of valves commonly found and details their operation. This book is a good starting point for both young engineers and beginning valve techs. It allows one to get their feet wet and gives direction for further study.
I have personally used this book as an informal training tool for engineers new to the wonderful world of valves. It lends itself well to a classroom/training session type format. There are cutaway views of all the valves giving the reader a fair idea as to the operation of the valve, and common terms are explained. |
