Valve Selection Made Easy,
By A Customer
This review is from: Valve Selection Handbook, Fourth Edition (Hardcover)
This book was very instrumental in the selection of a valve for the use in a special application. The mechanics involved in each of the valve applicability are well explained. It is also helpful in pressure drop calculations when the use of the valve at a specific part of a process is necessary. It provides a wide range of valve types and has well illustrative figures for understanding the way the valve operates. It also has good explanation for the packing materials used in the different type of valves. It is good for a novice and professional alike.

A Kid's Review

An excellent book to whom day after day needs to specify safety and relief valves as ball, globe and butterfly ones. This book also reserved a chapter dedicated to rupture discs.

A little disappointing actually, particularly with regards to Ball valves and I would have thought the book would have provided a more detailed description. A modern ball valve, particulary related to the Oil & gas industry can have as many as three A4 pages for a datasheet. Whilst this book provided a reasonable overview of industrial valves, the specifications etc. and applications do not seem to be provided.

There are plenty of good books on instrumentation and controls and valves . Please spend your money elsewhere . I was disapppointed by this book . It does not cover the material in detail and is difficult to understand . Please look elsewhere for info. on valves . Fisher Controls has free documentation on valves . There are other good books available also . Please don't end up wasting time and energy on this book . I am sorry about my critical review but I got to be honest . I have this book and am not satisfied with its content .
