More About the Author

I've been writing for over 40 years now...published for 29 of those years since 1984; have fourteen novels and 8 short stories to my name...and more coming. I write traditional supernatural horror, murder mysteries and paranormal romance. I've been writing about ghosts, haunted places and evil vampires WAY LONG BEFORE Stephanie Meyer (no relation to me even though my maiden name is Meyer) and the rest of the vampire author crowd, ha, ha. And between June 2010 and July 2012 ten of my older Zebra, Leisure paperbacks and Wild Rose Press books are going to be repackaged, reprinted and rereleased for the first time in many years (and in e-books for the first time ever) from DAMNATION BOOKS www.damnationbooks.com and ETERNAL PRESS www.eternalpress.biz. Yippie! So look for them.

I'm a wife of 33 years (husband, Russell), mother (one son, James) and grandmother (two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Joshua). I was a graphic designer in the corporate world for 23 years; and have published with Dorchester, Kensington, Avalon Books, The Wild Rose Press, Damnation Books and Eternal Press. Recently, I've crossed over into e-books as well as paperbacks. I love cats and nature, classic rock and country music (my brother, JS Meyer www.jsmeyermusic.com, is a singer/songwriter and does the songs for all my self-made book trailers that are on my websites). VISIT me at www.myspace.com/kathrynmeyergriffith or www.bebo.com/kathrynmeyerG or www.authorsden.com/kathrynmeyergriffith to see all my book covers and trailers.

Evil Stalks the Night (supernatural horror), Leisure 1984; The Heart of the Rose (historical romance) Leisure 1985; Blood Forge (supernatural horror), Leisure 1989; Vampire Blood (romantic supernatural horror), Zebra 1991; The Last Vampire (supernatural horror), Zebra 1992; Witches (romantic horror), Zebra 1993 & Pinnacle 2000; a novella called The Nameless One in Dark Seductions, an erotic horror anthology, Kensington, 1993; The Calling (supernatural horror), Zebra 1994. The Nameless One, a short erotic novella in the 1994 Zebra Anthology Dark Seductions. And Scraps of Paper (hardcover mystery) Avalon Books, 2003; All Things Slip Away, the second mystery in the series came out also from Avalon Books in February 2006. And my three novels and two short stories from The Wild Rose Press are also coming out again from ETERNAL PRESS: Egyptian Heart(ancient Egyptian time travel romance); Winter's Journey(a romantic suspense novel); The Ice Bridge, (a contemporary romance e-novel with a dose of murder mystery) and two ghostly short stories, Don't Look Back, Agnes and In This House. BEFORE THE END: A Time of Demons, an apocalyptic saga from Damnation Books, June 2010. THE WOMAN IN CRIMSON, a vampire eternal love story, is out now from ETERNAL PRESS www.eternalpress.biz. 4.0 out of 5 stars I liked it..I REALLY liked it!!, January 10, 2002
This review is from: Vampire Blood (Paperback)
I saw a rating of "1" by another reviewer...and I couldn't beleive it!
As a fan of horror fiction, (Vampire fiction specifically), I thought this book wonderful!
You have a truly nasty, evil, vampire and an un-likely hero in the ex-horror novelist turned 'handy woman.'
The story is about a 'family' of vamps, who due to the actions of one of their own are forced to move away from their current home, to escape discovery.
They then settle into a small town and by the local, derelict, movie theatre and hire a woman and her father to fix it up...but
one of the vampires has a more sinister plan for the theatre than showing film...she wants to use it to trap her evening meals.
The story is fast-paced and very enjoyable. And, most importantly, you care what happens to the characters.

1.0 out of 5 stars awful, awful, awful, May 17, 1999
This review is from: Vampire Blood (Paperback)
i just finished reading this book called vampire blood by kathryn meyer griffith. anyone read this? (anyone ever even heard of this book?) and i have to say it was just awful. i don't quite know why i continued to read it. the plot was a standard plot. the story was not well written, the dialogue was cheesy. the most interesting characters, the two main vampires, were not explored at all, while the reader learns about the main char and her family, and these people are boring and not at all believable. the ending was predictable. and the main char's ex-husband comes back into the picture, and i know that i was supposed to root for these two to get back together and triumph over the vampires, but all i wanted was for the vampires to kill them...i mean put me out of my misery. and jeff (the ex) was such a whiney baby...i don't know what the main char. saw in him. talk about whipped...anyway, if you haven't read it...don't. trust me.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME! It's my #1 favorite book in the entire world., June 20, 2004
This review is from: Vampire Blood (Paperback)
This book is the best in the entire world. I'm sad that no more will be printed. It's brillant in everyway. It's the old styled, cinema vampire, but through the eyes of a human surrounded by vampires. Nowadays it's always through the vampires eyes, which is nice. But this, this is just so much more. It's a clever story and you'll end up loving the characters. Most people can read this book, it's not too complex, as if the author wants to prove herself. The story is proof enough. IF EVER YOU WERE TO READ A BOOK, one book, in your ENTIRE LIFE. PLEASE READ THIS ONE, it's worth it. It's my #1 favorite.
