I wasn't going to review this book because I think of these "books" as exciting short stories instead of separate entities. And I've loved all 6 stories because Samantha Moon is such a wonderful character, funny, smart, strong, and keeps her "humanity" intact somehow despite having been attacked and forced to become something she didn't want. Plus. J. R. Rains writing is very good in the self-published world. In this series, I would put him up against any of today's successful thriller writers. However, I have read other works by him, including most of the S. Moon short stories, and while deciding whether or not to get the next short story, I read a 1-star review by a major fan of his who asked people not to slam her for the review - she just wanted to be honest and it hit me as I read her review how true her words were. Mr. Rain, I know you are incredibly talented at writing, but I also notice you putting out a bunch of stories. Her words were exactly how I feel about what I see in your writing - quantity does not always mean quality. I suspect you have a ton of ideas inside of you and a great amount of energy to get them out. But please DO think about slowing down a bit and concentrating on what you are doing best. I think it's time to test your talent and write a full book about the Samantha Moon saga. With the fans you have already accumulated (count me in there!), you might find a wider audience and deserved larger success. Just my humble opinion having read a lot of your stories over the last couple of years for what I consider lighter, well-written entertainment.

As for this story, #6, so good! There was an unevenness in this one that probably made me want to write this review, but the wonderful essence of Samantha Moon and all of her vampire issues were there so I gave it 5 stars. But I know you have a true novel in you and want to encourage you to slow down a bit to find it. To anyone reading this review, I do not hesitate to encourage you to immerse yourself into the world of Samantha Moon (best read in order). Just my opinion, and I am not a real fan of the paranormal genre, this series is fun, not always light, some amazing, inciteful moments, twists and turns and never boring!

Well I am sad to say I have already read Vampire Games: A Samantha Moon Novel (Vampire for Hire) and it was great and too frekin short, I WANT MORE! These books always leave me wanting more and he takes his sweet time getting them out, supposed to be another one at Christmas but I would not put money on it. Let me just say that it was as good or better than the others, it was another evolution in the life of Samantha (some good, some not as always) and it seemed like I opened it and it was over (well the fact that I got rid of the wife for 3 hours and had all that reading time may have helped). This is one of those things I wish I could start over like I never read them and read them all back to back. There is just something about these books that make them so unique. Sam gets a case to solve in addition to everything else in her life and Spinoza makes a guest appearance. Sam is without a doubt the most unique and "down-to-earth" vampire in fiction anywhere and she just keeps evolving which some dislike but I love her getting stronger and more confidant. As always it is 4+ stars, maybe 5 Stars but since I did not get enough I am unfulfilled once more <sigh> Maybe if he were not writing about 5 series at a time I could get more of Vampire for Hire :)

JR Rain continutes to entertain. I love the character of Samantha Moon. I wonder how a male author so accurately portrays a mom with two kids. He makes this character believable even though she is a vampire. She is first and foremost a mother who happens to be a vampire. She is strong, independent and yet loves her kids more than anything. I especially can identify with this character since I have a girl and boy the same age as Samantha's Kids are now in the stories. If you enjoy a strong powerful female lead with an entertaining storyline these stories are the books for you. I like this series so much that I also bought the first paperback, so I could share with fellow readers that don't do read ebooks. Maybe JR Rain will be close enough for me to go to a book signing some day. Great series of books and this latest installment does not disappoint. Always wanting more.

As always I feel a little bit ripped off as stories are so short I feel like I should have been charged for a novella. Otherwise am hooked on storyline. Will continue to buy books. Still wish the books were a little longer so I feel like I am getting what I paid for.

Vampire Games is the sixth book in the Vampire for Hire Series. In this book, Samantha Moon, a mother of two, private detective and a vampire is hired by a professional boxer to look into the death of his opponent during his last fight. What she discovers is hard to believe.

Samantha has been the lover of Kingsley Fulcrum, a werewolf. Some very disturbing events occur in their relationship. Her friendship with Fang also becomes jeopardized when Fang starts a relationship with another vampire. She is having troubles with her children. Overall, Samantha is having a very bad time of it.

I enjoyed this new installment of the series. The story was compelling and quick moving. The new developments in her relationship with Kingsley and Fang made my heart hurt. I hope that the next book finds Samantha in a better place in her life. I want her to be happy. I highly recommend Vampire Games and the other five books in the series.

As soon as I bought Vampire Games, I cracked it open and read it, I was done with it by the end of the night. I really enjoyed it, I've enjoyed the whole series. I wish you'd write quicker haha. I seriously can not wait until the next book.

This is an awsome book. It's the first in the series that I've read and it makes me want to read the rest. If I could find them in my local library.

Mr Rain has done it again, I absolutely loved the latest instalment of the Samantha Moon series. Once I started this book my life was on hold until the very last page, I could not put it down. I think this is the best Samantha Moon book yet and recommend this series to anyone looking for a good read.

J.R. Rain does it again! I thnk that being a mom, a divorcee and being self employeed would be stressful enough but then add a werewolf, various vampires and not being able to eat your once favorite foods, pure chaos!

I am excited that there is another book coming, type fast J.R.!
