5.0 out of 5 stars Music to slay to., February 23, 2002

This review is from: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Original Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This has to be one of the best soundtracks I've heard. It fits the mood of the movie extremely well, and manages to recreate the movie within your head everytime you listen to it.

The sound is excellent, every instrument comes out perfectly clear. One thing that I hate on certain OSTs is that they often omit certain tracks when it comes time to creating the OST, leaving out some excellent material sometimes. But this one has it all, even a bonus track from the Japanese version of the film, which is quite good.

Right now I'm listening to track 15, "Leila's Feelings". It's a masterpiece I tell you; the acoustic guitar touches your soul and makes you feel the pain both characters are living with. You can see the scene and almost hear the rain in your head.

Long story short, this OST is a must-have for any a)anime fans, b)gothic/vampire fans and c)J-Pop fans... trust me that "Tokumade" bonus track by Do As Infinity is worth it alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mmmmm. . ..music, December 25, 2003

Ok, so if you didn't see the movie, this soundtrack probably dosen't mean much to you. (Oh and by the way, this is the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust soundtrack.) But if you saw and enjoyed the movie this is a definate need. The music flows well, none of the songs feel out of place. The mood is ominous. I like to listen to this when I am driving at night. It just sort of fits.

I consider it a very good soundtrack with heart. And I mean soundtrack in that it holds its own against other intrumental soundtracks, not just in the anime genere.

the music that's played for scenes about meier and charlotte are so sweet. i get weepy whenever i listen to "mortal meier" and "a bit(e) of hope". just remembering the scenes makes me teary. this movie is incredible and the only unfortunate thing was that only a few of the voice actors put some effort into trying to make their characters seem believable (D's and leila's were not some of them). best part of the whole movie is when grove is in barbarois. aside from "mortal meier" and "a bit(e) of hope", the other really good tracks are "benge" (who's also my fav character), "grove", "into the trees", and "village of barbarois". anyway, great movie. can't wait for them to hurry up and do a japanese dub (still can't believe they dubbed it in english first. gack). and for those of you who're reading this, BUY THE SOUNDTRACK! THE MUSIC'S INCREDIBLE!
