A Look Into the World of D,
This review is from: Vampire Hunter D Reader's Guide (Paperback)
I didn't buy this book, and I wasn't sure if it was a guide worth buying as there were no reviews to consider. I finally found a copy in the store. The book is the same size as the Vampire Hunter D manga. Black and white on the inside. It starts off with a short story. The rest of the book is pretty much a dictionary defining monsters, places, and things that have come up in the Vampire Hunter D novels. There is artwork scattered throughout the book, and I recognized many pictures that can be found in the already published novels. I am a big D fan, but this book doesn't appear to be anything special. Some fans might want it for their collection, but passing it by would be no major loss. Hope this review gives some insight as to what this book is actually like. I can't say how valuable the information is, having not read it, but the guide is nothing special to run out and immediately buy. I give it three stars.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vampire Hunter D Reader's Guide (Paperback)
Bought this a couple months back, and I must say I am reasonably pleased. I got it new for a little under $4, and for that price I wasn't expecting much.As a avid reader of Vampire Hunter D, this guide was more of a refreshing look at the series rather than a guide, since other than the couple stories in the beginning(including Armageddon) it is first and foremost a dictionary. Some of the entries I had to question why they were in there, but many of them provided insights to some of my personal theories, and many were quite humorous. Four star. I'd give it five if it had more things I didn't already know. |
