5.0 out of 5 stars You will love this collection July 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I first bought the Vampire Hunter's Daughter at an airport and downloaded it to my ipad in hopes of giving me something to read on my flight. I immediately was enthralled with the story and knew that I was going to be left hanging if I didn't get at least one more. So, I stopped between chapters and proceeded to buy and download book 2. Jennifer can write a story in a way that many can't. I felt like I was there watching the story instead of actually reading it. Once I got to my destination, I bought book 3 and 4, read those before I knew what hit me and was ready for book 5. I downloaded book 5 before my flight home from the job that I had been on and completed it before I landed. I yearned for I hopped online and went to Jennifer's facebook page for the Vampire Hunter's Daughter. I travel for work frequently but only until this series had I ever really fallen in love with a story and felt like I needed to read more. I had been out of town for a week and the minute I got home (which was late in the evening) and found out that she had released another book (Book 6), I downloaded it and read until I had completed it. I couldn't put it down, just as I was not able to put down any of the books in this collection.

I haven't read any of Jennifer's other work but I am a fan of the Vampire Hunter's Daughter's facebook page and am anxiously awaiting another story by her.

This collection was fast paced and I never lost interest, which I tend to do fairly quickly with many stories. It wasn't all blood and guts but there was a little bit of a love story and things that people can relate to...a broken home, one parents family hating the other family, love, suspense, vampires, intrique...these stories pulled me in and didn't let me go.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting and Fast-Paced Collection October 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
'The Vampire Hunter's Daughter: Complete Collection' is the entire collection of short young adult paranormal stories that follow the main character, Chloe, a 14-year-old girl who discovers that she is the daughter of a vampire and a renowned vampire hunter. Along with her grandfather and the gang of other vampire hunters who have taken her in, Chloe is determined to reveal the secrets of her family and to destroy the vampire who is responsible for her mother's murder.

These stories are full of great vampire mythology and also incorporates interesting tales and legends of vampire hunters. It's a unique concept and I enjoyed learning the history and background of all those involved. The plot is decently written, but was somewhat cliched. The characters were also cliched and the dialogue seemed fake in several instances, which diverted my attention away from the storyline and made me lose interest. The book is full of action, which keeps it fast paced and enjoyable. There is some romance involved, but I didn't feel that it took away from the main focus of the narrative. Overall, this was a good collection of stories and fans of YA paranormal fiction will enjoy following Chloe's quest.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best book's I've read! July 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm a huge fan of this short story series, I'm usually not much of a fan for shorts because I love a long book but man.. These completely suck you in, and once you start you will end up addicted like I am. You know you have it bad when you stalk Jennifer's page to see if a new one had come out yet lol.

I love the way Jennifer writes I've read all of her book so far; The Vampire's Hunters Daughter has a great plot, fast paced and even a little romance oh and you can't forget the action these short stories are defiantly not missing anything.

Here are two of my favorite quotes from the book: From That moment on, I was Chloe Kallistrate, a vampire hunter. Part 1
I felt his lips touch mine, and my body literally sizzled. My hands were no longer cold, and my cheeks were warmed by my own fire, not by embarrassment. Part 6

Chloe was a normal 14 year old girl growing up with her mom, until one night her mother woke her up and told her to hide, Shoving her daughter in the closet.

Chloe sat there in the dark on top of all her shoes when some men came in after her mother. She ran out to help her mom and they killed her mother right in front of her.. That was the beginning of Chloe's new life as a vampire hunter. She vowed to get her revenge for her mother's death no matter what.

Chloe's mother hid a lot of things from her including her family, now she is living with the grandfather she never knew she had. Finding out her mother was a vampire hunter not just any hunter either one of

5.0 out of 5 stars Chloe the Vampire Hunter September 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I've been a vampire fan since I can remember, watching movies and reading books from the genre, so I eagerly read through The Vampire Hunter's Daughter in one night, courtesy of Bewitching Blog Tours.

The book opens up with a fourteen-year-old Chloe Kallistrate being awakened by her distraught mother in the early morning, telling her to hide in the closet as they are coming for her. Who is coming for her? Blood-sucking vampires of course!

The vampires murder her mother right in front of her and she was going to be next, but her grandfather suddenly appears saving her. She soon learns that her mother is from a line of vampire hunters. When her mother was a teenager, she fell for a vampire named Trevor, who happens to also be Chloe's father.

Chloe wants to avenge her mother's death, but first she must train to be a vampire hunter. She finds herself living in a small community, where all the people are hunters or hunter-to-be. She trains, goes to school, and even dates a few boys, but then her father Trevor finds her and Chloe knows she can no longer run from her destiny.

The Vampire Hunter's Daughter contains all six short stories by Jennifer Malone Wright, who has created a fun and interested main character Chloe, that somewhat reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in which I'm a huge fan of. Chloe acts just like a typical teenager, but she has a little more weight on her shoulders. The book is fast-paced at only 222 pages, so it can be easily read in one sitting. I enjoyed reading every minute of and I recommend it to other readers. The good news is that Chloe will be back in an upcoming new series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles.

This was a good mix of Vampire lore, and a fourteen year old girl. Not too mushy with the romance, just enough.

More About the Author

Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her short story series, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Jennifer also co-authors a series called Once Upon A Zombie Apocalypse as well the Beary Tales series.

She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!

But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.

Jennifer also loves coffee, has a passionate affair with red bull, wishes the sushi were better where she lives and dances while she cleans.
