From School Library Journal
Grade 9-12-Take equal parts of horror movie components-an ancient curse, the living dead, a power-hungry teen satanist who wants to live forever and is willing to trade human lives for the privilege, and two teen girls. Throw in a redneck sheriff and a mother whose baby was eaten by vampires long ago. Put them in the Florida Keys and point them toward the night when the 300 year curse expires. Within their stereotypes, some of the characters are well drawn, notably the girls. There's plenty of blood and gore. There's lots of dark foreshadowing, and short, flowing chapters that are easy to read. The story should work-but it doesn't-and it's unlikely that readers will stick with it. The climax is disappointing; nobody triumphs against the vampires, the curse just runs out. Yet another mediocre slasher book for horror buffs.
