1.0 out of 5 stars Vampire Junction, August 29, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Vampire Junction (DVD)
This was a waste of time, was stated as a film about native american vampires in new mexico but that was not true, has NO natives in the whole movie and the film itself was pure junk don't waste your time or your money, they should pay us just to watch it. How much more can be said about this so called film except it doesn't even deserive a rating cause they show negative stars & if they did their wouldn't be enough thats how bad this so called film is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Franco's worst film. Unwatchable., June 9, 2006
This review is from: Vampire Junction (DVD)
Jess Franco has proven that he is capable of making great movies. I am a big admirer of his, but I don't hesitate to admit that on his bad days, he has also made some of the worst movies I've ever seen. This is one of those. I think Franco needs the right producers backing him up, and One Shot Productions (who has produced most of his films since around 1997) don't seem to be the right producers.

There's not much of a story here. Lina Romay is driving around in the rain and arrives in some ghost town inhabited by vampires. There's she starts having nightmares about lesbian vampires shaving their pubic hair. Those scenes go on forever. This is the first DVD I've bought that I couldn't sit through without using the fast-forward button.

The quality of the DVD is as bad as all the One Shot movies released by Sub Rosa. And believe me, that's really bad. It's in full screen and the image quality is awful and the sound quality is so bad you can't hear half of the dialogue (not that there's much dialogue here, but anyway...). Special features include a very bad zombie short film in Spanish with English subtitles, and some trailers.

I could forgive the bad image and sound quality if the movie itself had been watchable, but unfortunately it's not. Don't waste your money on this one, even if you're a Franco fan (I know if you're a francophile like me you'll buy it anyway, but don't say I didn't warn you). If you want to see a decent Franco/One Shot productions movie, get "Blind Target" or maybe even "Incubus".
