As this volume begins, Kaname makes his move against Sara - and the Cross Academy alumni must each decide with whom they stand. What with everything that Kaname has done over the course of the story and Sara's little stunt with the bad blood tablets last volume, it seems to be a choice between the lesser of two evils depending on whose point of view one is looking at.

As Kaname meets Ichijo again, Rima - always the most apolitical character in the series - rushes to the scene to try to bring back her two boys, which is the only thing she really cares about. Aido decides that he stands with neither Kaname or Sara, but with Yuki - who is trying to defuse the situation. Unfortunately, with Kain on Team Kaname due to not being able to get the King's hooks out of Ruka, that might mean facing the person he least wanted to on the battlefield. Zero makes a startling alliance, and for Kain a knee-jerk reaction by Ruka spurred by compassion for Yuki's situation may lead to his worst fear coming true...

This is a fine entry with movement on all the various subplots which have been slowly weaving together since the battle for Cross Academy - and fans who have been waiting for some more action will be pleased. With something for everyone and emotional scenes for almost all the cast across the board - from a devastating connection revealed between Kaname and Zero through a surprisingly touching scene between Ruka and her admirer Kasumi (the day class male dorm president) - those who have been waiting for things to move forward will start getting their payoff here - with presumably much more to come next volume.

This manga is my absolute favorite. I have put a lot of others books on hold just for this series and I have no regrets. The fact that it's near its end is heartbreaking to me but all things reach that point. Kaname is a bit frustrating (what's new) due to all of his mister mystery crap and Yuki cutting her bond to him was something! One more volume to go and it'll all come full circle.

If you didn't read 1-16 don't buy this until you do. This is a great perspective on what vampires would be like if they were real and could have children.

Friend reads these series a lot because she likes the sexual like figures that this series has. She often dreams about it and even tried dragging me into this-- which I refused to (Sorry!). But anyway, this book really is worth the price and really nice to read as my friend tells me.

I am completely in love with this series! I first discovered it from the movies and decoded to read the books. The books are ten times better than the movies and I would recommend them to anyone!

Vampire Knight is truly one of the best manga series. Strongly suggest to all who love pure love, vampires and mystery. The anime version is awesome too. Can't wait to read the next book on May!
