After having seen nearly 100 anime films in the last 5 years, I would have to say that Miyu is one of the best still. It's a tough choice between this film and Battle Angel for having the best female heroine. A must see on the list of classics.

This anime is deeply emotional.. the character design is amazing. you actually get to learn about Miyu's past in this tape.

Ok, I can't think of a review title. Anyways, I really liked the Vampire Princess series. I thought this tape was pretty good with good animation. I pretty much watched it over and over again.

In this tape I found that the story was quite confusing at first, but overall it was good. The story got better later on. Now what I want to see next is the TV series of Vampire princess Miyu ^_^.

Beautiful, wonderfully animated. Great storyline, yet at the same chilling as you see through the eyes of the childlike vampire Miyu. The charactors are lovable, and their sorrows will break your heart. Fans 'Vampire Hunter D' and other occult Anime MUST see this!

If you read my review of the first Vampire Princess Miyu VHS you will see that I loved it, and the second one is even better.

The first episode on this tape is the incredibly haunting story of a love that cannot work because one partner's soul is trapped in a peice of armor. Miyu must teach the humans that no matter how much you love someone, you must give them up at some point. The ending is very sad and it will linger on for a long time.

The last episode in the OVA tells the story of Miyu's past, and is probably the most chilling... but also the most confusing, of all! We find out how she became a vampire and why she always seems so troubled. We get to see her parents, her school mates, and the first time she tasted blood. We also learn the history behind her and Larva.

A must watch for any anime or Miyu fan. The music is perfect and it sets the mood. I would recommend the soundtrack to anyone!

Unfortunately only 4 episodes have been released in this country, but they are well worth the watch. Suspenseful, chilling, with great effects and an amazing and innovative sound track (mostly sound ala THX), Vampire Princess Miyu is a marvel. Also rare, the tv series beats the comics hands down. Wait for the DVD if you are looking for the BEST in the sound... although the HiFi recordings are clear on the VHS, the stereo effects are very limited... and in addition the amount of detail in the animation would be much better served in the digital format.
