Excellent,
By Amy Nickelby "Evanescence fan" (New York, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Vampire's Kiss (Paperback)
This book was fantastic. Mysterious, romantic, sexy...it was really good. The main character Savannah was likeable because she was human - she was exceedingly strong-willed but never admitted it. The relationship between Savannah and the vampire, William, was beautiful. Though it had so many levels, the fiery, sexy level and then the lovely, passionate level and everything in between, their relationship was truly loving and very well-described. Though some of the vampire features didn't match up with common vampire knowledge, it was still a good read and I would recommend it to anyone who has what I have - a love of vampires.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
An ancient evil... An unholy alliance... An eternal love... William Dark is a monster-a vampire who feeds on blood and fear. He is exactly what Savannah Daniels needs. A year ago, Savannah's twin brother and his wife were brutally murdered. Savannah swore a vow of vengeance against the man, the beast, that killed him. A beast that is now after her. Savannah needs William's help in order to keep her vow. She must convince him to transform her, to give her the kiss of the vampire, so that she will be strong enough to defeat the killer that is on her trail. Savannah and William enter into an unholy alliance: He will transform her and see that she receives her justice. In return, she must be his companion, his mate, for eternity. But Savannah soon realizes that there is more at stake than just her life. Because once she tastes William's kiss, she knows that she may be in jeopardy of losing her heart as well. And she will have to put all of her trust, all of her faith, into the hands of a man who lost his soul centuries ago...

This is my first review on Amazon because I think the low rating is misleading. I have to say this book is extremely underrated. Unlike most paranormal romance nowadays, this one actually has a good plot that carries the story, very likable and well-developed characters, and is well written with dialogues that don't seem forced. One of my pet peeves in the romance genre is that the leads fall in love too fast. However, if it's done right, readers can still believe that this couple will have a chance after HEA.
This book is done right. The story is about Savannah, a strong-willed, loyal girl determined to avenge her beloved brother's death. She seeks out William Dark, a tortured, ancient vampire with hidden secrets, in order to turn her into a vampire. Yes, the story has been done before. Sweet, young, innocent heroine with the strength and courage to break through the barriers of a dark, handsome vampire to save his soul. However, it's the journey Ms. Eden takes us that through that will leave readers aching for more. She creates a dark, sensual atmosphere with two very courageous, driven people. They're very real. Their past, their fears, their happiness, and their gradual love. I read compliants about there being too much sex in the story. I'm surprised that people would link this to an erotica. There's no more sex in this book than the next Dark-Hunter or Immoral After Dark book. And even when there is, it's not cheap or smutty. It's done tastefully. I would describe it as more passionate and steamy. This is my first book by Ms. Eden and if the rest of her books are like this one, it certainly won't be my last. Don't let the low reviews scare you off. Give this book a try. I'm glad I did.

I really liked this book alot...it took a few chapters for me to really get into it...but then I really enjoyed it (read through it in two hours)...the only thing is that it is a bit graphic as far as sexual content goes...so if you are not offended by books that a bit graphic then it is good...if you are offended by graphic books, I would suggest not to read it...or if you do, be fore-warned.

I am a fan of this type of book. JR Ward, Kresley Cole, Feehan and Kenyon are my top four in this area but I think Eden did very well for a first book. The Vampire's Kiss was entertaining and made the reader want to read to the end. I would also love to read Henry's story. I was very curious about what happens to him. Eden was very good at peaking the reader's interest and I think she has talent. Not the best book I have ever read but a good one none the less.

Vampire's Kiss had a different twist to vampires and I really liked it. The book was good. The only thing that kept getting on my nerves was Savannah. *Spoiler* She is the one who wanted to become a vampire, yet whenever she got her wish she wouldnt embrace it. Didnt want to read minds or find prey. Her character was strong in the beginning but as soon as she was turned its like she became another person. Shes the one who begged to become a vampire so it just got on my nerves that once she was one she wouldnt embrace it.
Other than the detail of Savannah, the book was really good. I liked William alot. He was a strong, sexy alpha male who made the story a good read.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I am very particular on books about Vampires. Of late, the Vampire seems to be more docile, can only feed on their mate and the list goes on. Not this book. THis book reminds me of a Vampire story of yesteryear, i.e, brooding, powerful vampire who is quite intimidating and lives up on the hill. Stories are whispered about him around the village. What I also liked about this book is that the Vampire does not "turn" just about everyone he puts his teeth on. In fact, he does not turn anyone, until he meets Savannah. But she has to do some talking and then there is of course how Vampire William Dark feels when he sees her. He is dark, mysterious, powerful and handsome. Even though he towers over Savannah dripping with power and intimidation, Savannah does not back down. I loved this book and will read it over again.

Couldn't Put This Book Down!,
By Lana West "Spatzi" (Griswold, CT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Vampire's Kiss (Paperback)
THE VAMPIRE'S KISS will send chills down your spine and have you reading long into the night to finish it. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. There are mysteries and danger around every corner. William gives new meaning to the phrase dark and mysterious and has a sensual attitude that will curl your toes. Savannah is the strong willed and determined woman intent on capturing her brother's killer, who's ruined her life, and will stop at nothing until the man she has been searching for is dead. Savannah and William together are dynamite, and set out to find a killer before he kills again. With many twists and turns, and suspenseful moments, this book will have you wondering whats going to happen next. This is the first book I have read by Cynthia Eden, her writing style was very enjoyable, and she had me wanting more! I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books in the future!

Better than some,

I thought this book was better than some of the paranormal books out on the market today. I was glad that this novel had romance. I do have to agree with some of the reviewers, there were a few too many vampire cliches which isn't really a bad thing, but kind of, I don't know...played out. I did think the overall plot was pretty original. I would also recommend to fans of this book/genre the Knights of the Darkness Chronicles by D.N. Simmons.
I'd by another book from this author in the future.

I loved the first book and was not disappointed with its follow up; a vampire romance for people that love their men strong and their women sassy.
