Book Description

September 1, 2010
Since the dawn of civilization the vampire has danced through the dreams and nightmares of every culture, expressed in folklore, literature, and art. Today, this fascination resonates in pop-culture, through hit television shows and movies and bestselling books. But what does it mean to be a vampire, a living and modern vampire? What many do not realize is that the Living Vampire is on a serious, lifelong spiritual path.

Best known as Strigoi Vii, the Living Vampire is one who has embarked on a serious and lifelong spiritual path. Not just "kids in capes," the members of this magickal community seek to live in glamour and ritual every day. The Vampyre Sanguinomicon provides a profound perspective on the Vampyre culture, traditions, movement and philosophies, which are intended to challenge and inspire your views. Chapters include Vampyre Ritual, Vampyre Sensuality, Beginning Vampyrism, and The Vampyre Wedding.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Vampire fads come and go, emerging each decade in some new form, but for those for whom the vampiric mystique is a calling, the choices inspired become a life path. Vampyre Sanguinomicon offers a compelling and elegant presentation of the history, rituals, and customs of a specific spiritual movement. It has the quality of permanence, and it will likely make an enduring contribution to sanguinary lore." -Dr. Katherine Ramsland, author of The Science of Vampires and Piercing the Darkness

"The Sanguinomicon provides a unique and valid look at one of the oldest Vampyre traditions in the modern living vampire subculture. Full of rich descriptions and details of the past, it delves deep into the many aspects long whispered about in the shadows. Highly recommended." -Corvis Nocturnum, author of Allure of the Vampire

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended - Buy this Book! September 6, 2010
Format:Paperback
I've been studying the vampire archetype from a variety of perspectives for quite some time. "Sanguinomicon," in my opinion, is the best book of its genre. The prose is clear and accessible yet does not "talk down" to the reader and assumes an honest and intelligent interest in the subject. While the book may seem primarily geared towards the reader who wants to incorporate the vampire archetype into his/her personal paradigm, it is also an invaluable reference for the scholar or aficionado. Unlike some other books on the subject, "Sanguinomicon" approaches the subject of "living Vampyrism" from an intellectual, scientific, pragmatic, and realistic point of view. It offers practical applications as well as philosophy and rhetoric. It even incorporates vampire history, literature, and popular culture! Simply put, this book is a must-read and a valuable addition to any library.

This tome of the "Living Vampire" is a must have for both seeker and scholar alike. The author manages to explain the sophisticated philosophies and rituals of the Strigoi Vii in a clear and concise manner. The lexicon is also full of excellent and beneficial exercises to help the would be initiate along on their quest for becoming. The book also includes an interesting and eclectic suggested reading list to help further the students journey, as the path to Xeper can't begin and end with one book. I honestly can't recommend this book enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth beyond the fashion "vampire" January 6, 2013
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Set to type, a cohesive and logical understanding of a path and lifestyle so few grasp the meaning of. Father Sebastiaan takes you through a journey of various personal life experiences through which he explains the fundamental differences between the primary vampire types and the practices of "The Living Vampyre". Along with his other books, he empowers you to embrace who you are and allow you to live your true nature, should it be your path. Far from trying to establish a "Gothic Occultism", or a "following" so to speak, he encourages individuality, independence and strength of self, while offering guidance and insight. Not for everyone, especially those with close minded beliefs who do not allow others their own opinions.

Eternally,
Lily Rayne
