Lunchbox works fine, and is pretty big. It holds my personal effects just fine.

However, there is one big problem.

Sulu is missing from the cast picture! He's a lieutenant for cripes' sake. Chekov is present all the way on the right - and he was just a lowly ensign. WTF!?

Is this just an oversight (doubtful), or is there a more nefarious reason for his omission? I have just contacted the company and will update my review when I get their response.

Thank you for contacting us. I have to say this is the one of the most interesting questions anyone has ever asked me! Licensed products are interesting to make. We have to follow art style guides from the licensor, and even when we do that , they must approve our choices. It's hard to say why this particular lunch box doesn't feature Sulu, but I'm guessing the image used was the "best" group shot available from the art style guide. It's also possible that we had designed this with a shot including Sulu, and the licensor asked us to use a different image. In no way was it intentional, but interesting all same.

I was looking for a lunchbox for my daughter that would be metal, bix, and without being to babyish or too idoly (like Hannah Montana). This one was the only solution for my search - Star Trek! Nice box!!!

This is so wonderful. Number one, it's a way to flaunt Star Trek on one's person like there's no tomorrow. Number two, it holds my lunch. It is very durable.

Granted, my 8-yr old is hard on his stuff, but this box lasted about 6 months tops before all the rivets fell out and the back completely detached from the box. We used dental floss to tie the box together, but after the final rivet gave out we tossed it. At least it was reasonably priced, and a perfect (largish) size.

Very vibrant colors; absolutely fabulous gift; I will post a video of this item soon. This is a wonderful, "retro" gift for a fan of TOS.

I love it...it's larger than a regular size lunch box. Not to mention, how much cooler can you get than having an original series Star Trek lunch box. I got tired of borrowing my son's Spiderman lunch box (although, Spidey is super cool too). This has been great, and it's well made.

A collector's items sitting on my self. I only wish a thermos came with it! It is beautiful and will be handled with kid's gloves.

What a great lunch box! Use it every day to carry my lunch to work. Get comments just about every day on how cool it is. Most love the retro look. Very well built too.

I purchased this lunch box for my husband for Christmas. He's been taking his lunch to work in it for the past couple of months and it's still going strong. He loves it. It was a great purchase and the perfect gift for my dork husband :)

I give the product a five star review for the simple fact that it's cheap in price, works beautifully, and portrays my love for Star Trek. However, that is not to say that there aren't SOME problems with it. Putting problems aside such as the vulnerable lid, as it is very east to get scratched, I will talk about the handle. Whilst going to pick up the "tin tote", the handle broke on me under minimal force. I simply replaced the handle and made a paracord one, so it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm simply bringing up the issue as some people may not want to have to make their own handle for their "tin tote". It holds up well in general, as I have put it through the dishwasher, I store it in the refrigerator, and it gets banged up in the back of my Jeep. (backpack is CONSTANTLY falling on it, forcing me to force the dents out. They come out easily). It is also constantly rubbed against a brick wall, and the coating does hold up better than most, but still considered "faulty" in my eyes. Overall, I love this product. Absolutely love it. If you carry your lunch, love Star Trek, and have an affinity for showing of your Geekiness, then this is a MUST. Just give it a try.
