The universal reed, Vandoren Traditional Saxophone Reeds are widely used among professionals in all genres. This reed is designed to produce a quality of extremely pure sound due to a very thin reed tip (the area of reed with maximum vibration) and a solid vertebral column (more cane in the area which climbs gradually to the heel). These reeds are recognizable by a straight line to delineate the limit of the area of bark. The favorite reed of recognized saxophonists like Stan Getz, Lee Konitz and Marcel Mule, Vandoren Traditional Reeds have always been used with equal success by many players.

I play Saxaphone in a High School Marching band, and these reeds are really strong and durable. I used to use Rico reeds, but I found out that Vanduren actually helped me play lower notes. Very good!!! 5/5!

My daughter has been using Vandoren reeds for over a year now. This is her second year playing the alto saxophone. We moved her from a #2 reed to a #2.5 reed at the beginning of this year and she's been doing great. These reeds are high quality and worth the extra money. If you rotate them each time you play and keep them in a good reed guard case so they dry thoroughly without warping, they last a long time.
