I have to admit, this book was unexpectedl; ESPECIALLY in this incredible, oversized and luxurious printing. That being said, if you release a photographic capsule on Vanessa Del Rio you have two choices:

1. delicately find the odd frame and 'portrait' that captures her essence but avoids the x rating

OR

2. embrace the x, show her in all porn's prurient truth.

Taschen, no shrinking violet of a publisher, chose the second path. THANK YOU. To see period porn in extra-large, art-glossy print, quickly surpasses fetishistic purvey. Rather than try to recapture the dirty underground experience that was 70's theatrical porn, Taschen wrapped Vanessa Del Rio in the highest of design and aesthetic book experience.

This is a glorious book in both content and creation, by a publisher that outrageously celebrates the porn experience rather than denigrates it.

OUTSTANDING!!! Great pictures and a Wonderful read. Very detailed and well researched. This is a truly fantastic Bio of Ms. Del Rio's career. MUST HAVE for Vanessa Del Rio Fans. I wanted to get collectors/artistic version, but that $1500 was just to steep (and I'm a HUGE VDR Fan for over 20 years). I'm so glad they came out with this 'affordable' version. High Quality and just plain Wonderful. Sexy, Nasty, and Fun. Hats off too Vanessa and Ms. Hanson: This book OUTSTANDING!!!

Finally, a book big enough to document the outsized legend of the greatest adult film actress of all time. Only 3 words describe the life and times of our lovely Miss Del Rio : Fascinating, Fascinating and Fascinating. Her life story reads like a Russ Myer script. Full of wanton displays of rebel attitude, rapacious sexuality , and fated encounters with the improbable. After reading the story of Vanessa's life you quickly realize that a woman like her could only have existed at the intersection of history, opportunity , and ability. A sexual supernova who will never be equaled ...buy the book and take comfort in the fact that you share the earth with such a wonderous sexual being.

This is a hardcore book full of Vanessa Del Rio.She's shown being rammed,crammed and stuffed in every possible position. The images are best for the one-handed viewer. The retail price is a colossal swindle. I got the book for 350 dollars. No person unless he just made friends with P.T. Barnum should pay that. Vanessa is phenomenal as the Latino lust goddess,and her story is worth a read,but that price is ridiculous.

I love Vanessa Del Rio's work! The book is very heavy but that's not a complaint. It's just not for bed reading, which is why i have not finished looking/reading it. It's more of a coffee table read. I'm glad i caught this price versus the original price. I believe she talks about ingesting anabolic steroids in the book; very fascinating. She looks GREAT as an older woman nowadays! I wonder if she has an autobiography out of normal size for bed reading =)

Maybe the most sexually charged tome I have ever read and as close to Vanessa del Rio as I might ever get in this lifetime. So good, truthful, sexy, vivacious and lively-in short everything you'd expect from the queen of all porn. Vanessa del Rio is the ONLY BONAFIDE SUPERSTAR to emerge from porn a larger than life star amongst stars. She's Vanessa del Rio and at 57 still the Spanish Fly. She oozes sensuality in every syllable.

I have been a fan of Vanessa's since I was 18! This book is so relevant to the time and era that she began her journey. I relate to her feelings about "not doing it for the money, but because she enjoyed it"! Admitting to your appreciation for satisfication is such a freeing and liberating statement. I would recommend this book, not only for the photos, but moreso for Vanessa's story. She is still as vibrant and volumptuous as she was back in the 80's! Indulge yourselves in the wonder and beauty of a, Sexual Goddess!

If you're a fan of Vanessa, you'll love it. It's not just a photo book of her career. It's a light biography on her life and her adventures on set and in her personal life. I give it three thumbs up!

If you watch adult films and are a fan of the golden age of said films if you had to make a choice even though she would be on anybodys top 10,my favorite was and still is Vanessa....she was the one for me,always was.She was willing to let it all hang out and was everything a red-blooded male could ever want in a woman.She was beautiful,erotic,sexy,funny and sexually she was the most uninhibited to ever grace a movie screen.Retired since 1986 but still active via her website and in personal appearances,this book is the perfect summation of her personal life,art,adventures and sexual exploits.She tells her story in an interview fashion and does not hold back one thing...she was a bad girl from the very beginning and she never looked back.The book is very well done,it`s not a cheap throwaway but a true art book that gives alot of insight into her life and times.

Of course there are great pictures from her entire career but it`s the things you didn`t know about her like her childhood and her realationship with her parents and her relationships along the way that helped shape this sexual dynamo.She has a history and is very proud of what she has accomplished in this life and this book is the cherry on top.It also has a 2 hour dvd that is a great cross section of clips from films and from selected shorts as well...great viewing indeed.

First of all the book looks beautiful...I mean it actually does. It's a big bodacious coffee table book (although you may want to put it away when company comes over). Vanessa Del Rio is a larger than life character and reading the details of her "slightly slutty" life was really interesting and "titiliating". The pictures in the book are really good quality, but be forewarned they are pictures of Vanessa doing what Vanessa does. If you're a fan or you like controversial books this one will fit the bill perfectly.
