This review is only coming after a month of owing the case. So far, this has been a very impressive case. It looks much more expensive than it really is. When my co-workers saw the case, they immediately said to me that I should be coming in there with the case handcuffed to my wrist as if there were top secret documents in there. There is much space for a 17" laptop and all the things that goes with it. I have quite a bit of stuff in there besides my laptop. The case has some weight before putting everything else in it so it can get kind of heavy. I do like the combination locks so as to keep prying eyes out. Overall, great purchase and if the need do arise again, I will make another purchase both from Amazon (speedy delivery) and from the manufacturer (great price/great product). The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars, is because I have only owned it for one month.

This case is pretty high quality compared to other laptop cases I've came across before. Fit and finish is pretty nice and it has a decent amount of room for papers, pens, batteries, etc. It fits my 17 inch Sony Vaio AR 230G perfectly. I would have gave it a five if the combination locks didn't give me trouble when I first set the combination. Other than that minor problem which was my own stupidity in action this is a great, strong, durable laptop case.

good quality, holds all my stuff, great price. I travel doing video work and the case holds up with all the pro grade cases for equipment. Things get banged around some, and my laptop is always safe.

Before I bought a new briefcase I tried to do a lot of research to find the right one. I felt that the Vanguard Luxor Series Deluxe Aluminum Case would be that case. After using it for sometime now I am thoroughly pleased. It is roomy, it is secure and you can drop it without damage to you laptop.
I am very satisfied.

Unit is robust, combination is easy to use.
A 17" laptop can fit nicely in the case but my largest caveat is that there is nothing to protect the top of the laptop from being scratched from the other items in located in the lid of the case like pens (where are two pen holders there) and even the strap itself.

Maybe a really thing laptop would be ok but I would try my best to place something in there to protect the lid.

The unit is a little heavy but does a good job protecting everything inside.

I bought this case three months ago and it has not proven to be that tough. Within a week, the top lid sides did not meet properly so that you had to spend a few minutes fiddling with it. Then, three weeks ago, one of the locking clasps fell off between leaving my plane and leaving the airport. So far the manufacturer has not stepped up with a new one or an offer to repair it FOC. I should add that it has been on THREE plane trips and has never been placed in the checked baggage section.

The 85C was not available anywhere so I bought an 84C initially. Unfortunately it was too small for my laptop and the notebook cooler I have. After several months Amazon had the 85C which is about an inch deeper on their site for sale. About $50 cheaper than the other websites that still didn't have it in stock. I can say it is a good purchase and the locks work just fine.

Ok, so have had this bag for almost a year. Yea, stuff can come flying out on the inside, and scratch up the top of your MBPro, which is annoying. And it seemed to be nice and protective. As I was slipping the strap on yesterday, it snapped off down by the clasps. The computer landed on a corner. The body of the MBpro has bent. Gonna be hundreds in repair cost for this. Will go with nice soft, surrounded backpack with huge straps from now on.

Great case, the picture on Amazon was rather misleading, but the case was build well. Has two sets of locks, one set on the latches, and the other is a heavy duty lock in the center of the case.

Doesn't quite fit my 17 inch laptop AND the power supply, but still great. Dimensions are about half an inch less than stated, and can be a little awkward to carry, but it still looks very sharp and proffessional.
