best all around value,

This is the second year I've used this sunscreen, since it was rated in the top ten in EWG testing last year. I see it's down to #20 this year, (out of 469 tested!) but the competition has really heated up for nontoxic, effective sunscreens. I burn easily, and have never gotten a burn while using it, and on occasion that has meant going out in direct summer sun all day long.
I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because it does take a bit of effort to apply. I find it's important to squeeze out just enough to coat. If I get it on too thickly, it can be tricky to spread or remove some so there's not a thick, white coating. That being said, it's not really not that difficult. Considering that the price is about half of the comparable, highly rated sunscreens, it's a great value, and it's the only sunscreen I use.

Works well when sweating,

I've bought several bottles of this now and have found it's one of the few sunscreens that continues to work while I sweat. I'm outside for 12hrs at a time and sweat a ton. I apply about 3 times during a 12hr day, and rarely get a burn. My only complaint is that it goes on very thick and bottles get used up pretty quickly.

Summer saver,

We adopted a little boy from China, whom we found out on the first day of swimming, is highly allergic to sunscreens of any kind. The allergist recommended this and gave us samples as well. While it is a little thicker than norm, the Vanicream Sport 35 worked well, whether on a FL vacation or for daily pool use. Our other son, who usually gets rashes after a few days of sun and sunscreen on the beach, used it as well. No more rashes!

Excellent sunscreen, extreme holding power,

This sunscreen holds up incredibly well while perspiring heavily or when swimming. It does not seep into your eyes at all when sweating. It takes a bit of rubbing to get it in. If you put too much on you will not be able to rub it all in and you will end up looking like a clown. However even if you do put too much on it does eventually fade in on its own. There is no greasy residue with this lotion, which I really like. I had been using a good lotion for a number of years, and then they changed something in the formulation and now I feel like a greased pig when I use it. This sunscreen can be tough to wash off-but that really is a plus. If it comes off easily, then you're not getting adequate protection. I work as a lifeguard on the beach so there really is no better litmus test than what I go through in a normal work day. This sunscreen does the job.

Sensitive Skin Relief!,

Having extremely sensitive skin (including eczema), it has been a challenge to find a sunscreen that didn't cause an adverse reaction - especially on my face and neck. After recent Mohs surgery for basal cell carcinoma on my nose, my dermatologist suggested Vanicream - the one product his most chemical sensitive patients could handle. I was skeptical, but agreed to try it - as I now have to wear SPF 30 daily on my face. I am so pleased! For the first time - no reaction, no redness, no breakouts, no welts that last for days. I would recommend this product to anyone - but especially to those who feel as I did that there wasn't a sunscreen made for my sensitive skin. Excellent results.

Vanicream Sunscreen Review,

This is my second tube of this sun screen. I have allergies and this is the only one I have found that is truly non-allergenic. Product is very good and the source and shipping were prompt and reasonable. I am pleased with this transaction.

Healthy sunscreen that's acceptable,

I bought this because it was a well-rated sunscreen for its effectiveness and non-toxicity by the Environmental Working Group. Highly recommend using their sunscreen guide, because unfortunately most sunscreens are not nearly effective enough and also include risky ingredients for our bodies.
It has a different texture than the mainstream sunscreens I used to rely on. It is thicker and harder to rub in, whereas the others are more liquidy. It leaves a more ghostly look unless you really rub it in. However, especially after trying another similar sunscreen that was like a glue stick (TruKid Facestick), this one is acceptable to me. I will probably buy it again. Health and effectiveness will trump cost and appearance for me. Recommend.

It seems all products that block out the sun go on very heavy but at least I have not broken out from this one. I will be testing this cream when I go to Aruba to see if actually does block the sun. So far I like it.

Doesn't Work for Me,

I have skin allergy toward sunblocks. Tried many many sunblocks and I still got rashes and some was so bad it took a whole month to recover. I thought I can finally be out and about enjoying the sun again with Vanicream Sunblock but no, it was not meant to be because a few minutes after I put a little bit of it on my skin as a test, I started feeling itchy and soon after - the rashes appeared. I do have to say I like the fact that it's not oily and doesn't give you an extra sheen of sweat, like you just got out from the shower. I'm just glad I didn't buy the big ones.

Best Sunscreen,

Vanicream Sport is the only sunscreen I have used now for about two years. It's very low in toxins, it makes a great base before I put on my makeup, and it even helps to fill in my wrinkles! Unlike other sunscreens, this stuff never makes me itchy. Amazon's price was the best price I could find on the internet on the day of my purchase.
