Book Description

August 22, 2006 10 and up5 and up
Stevie Thomas and Susan Carol Anderson return in another fast-paced, action-packed sports mystery. The two teenage sports reporters have kept in touch after their wild time at the Final Four, and when Susan Carol manages to score a press pass to cover the first week of the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament in New York, Stevie works out a way to be there as well. The behind-the-scenes action in the world of professional tennis is occasionally bewildering, but it turns downright inconceivable when a young Russian phenom, Natalia Makarova, disappears right before her second-round match. Everyone is looking for Natalia–including Stevie and Susan Carol. The rumors are growing wilder by the hour. But they don’t even come close to the shocking truth. . . .

1.0 out of 5 stars Tenis never was this bad!, May 25, 2010
The book I read was Vanishing Act. The main characters name is Steve. He is friends with a girl from South Carolina. The friend gets tickets to the U.S open through one of his and her friends who are a writer. He gets them tickets to it, but they have to help him Wright about it. At the event, there is female player who is one of the best (and prettiest on the tour. But when she is supposed to come out of the opening to the stadium for her first game, she disappears!

I did not like this book for many reasons. One of them is they did not tell us a lot about Steve and his friend. Also it takes a while before the action starts so you have to be patient with this book (I was not). Also they have many random characters then are only used for about two pages. This is why I did not like the book Vanishing act.
