5.0 out of 5 stars so funny!! (I finally found it!), January 3, 2007

This review is from: Vanishing America [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have been looking for this since I saw it on tv in 1987! I finally figured out what it was called and found it.

I was 20 then and I really enjoyed this, it's nostalgic, lots of things you remember from family road trips, with funny twists. For example: Rich talks to a guy who bought a bunch of those huge plactic slides like at the state fair who hopes to go nationwide with them. He is explaining that he got that particular one cheap because they installed it upside down. "See that hump there? It's supposed to be at the top, not the bottom" As he's telling Rich this a guy comes flying through the air behind them screaming. It's hilarious and made more so because they dont react to the screaming guy.

Also, a young Kyle Petty has a scene in it that was pretty funny but I cant remember what it was about. I just remember it ended with Kyle taking Rich's vehicle and snatching some money out of Rich's hand as he left.

This film was funny and nostalgic at the same time. If I remember correctly it was suitable for the whole family.

I'm finally ordering a copy for myself and you should too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why hasn't anyone else reviewed this?, September 2, 2002

I thought this was a more popular show. Of course, it was on Comedy Central BEFORE the South Park days. It is a shame that people don't appreciate such fine humor as this. Or maybe I am wrong, and it is popular, just not on Amazon. Either way, here is my review:

This is a comedy about Richard Hall trying to find a prize he won from The Junior Seeds Sales Club of America(they were good kids, our salesmen!) He has quite an adventure across America along the way. You may recognize a few guest appearances..such as Harry Anderson from Night Court(I think...), and the statue of the Big Boy restraunts..although, he doesn't have any lines. Richard Hall realizes through his journey that...It's not the trophy, it's the quest!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved This, August 16, 2010
This review is from: Vanishing America [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I remember watching this as a kid, everytime it'd come on HBO I'd watch it! I haven't seen it since then, but one of my favorite skits was when he puts on the big red wax lips. Since then, I've reminisced about the program every halloween when the wax lips adorn the grocery store shelves!
