I bought this bra yesterday after literally trying on 23 different bras at J.C. Penny.
I found only three out of 23 that met the criteria I wass looking for. Here's what I look for in a bra, and what I found:

1. Comfort is a must. I generally wear a bra for approximately 12-16 hours a day, so discomfort or irritability is not an acceptable trait in my mind. This bra was comforatable when I first put it on. I immediately knew that the other bras on my "maybe" list just got bumped to a "no" list after feeling the difference in the Vanity Fair 71380. Today I wore the bra all day and kept telling my husband how pleasantly surprised I was. It moved with me, didn't dig in or pinch anywhere, was the perfect balance of support amd comfort. If possible, it actually seemed to get more comfortable as the day went on. I wear a 40DD in this bra. I have no idea what it would be like for someone who was significantly bigger or smaller sized, but if you're anywhere around a D or DD, I think you will be very pleased with this one.

2. Quality of material (how long will it last?). The material seems to be very sturdy but flexible. I like the softness of it, as well as the strength of the wireless band. It suprised me how much support it gave, even without a wire. I love the tagless feature. That's so nice! No itches that i can't reach.
The 4 clasps are a plus. I feel that they hold everything more securely in place.

3. Looks. Ok, so a couple of the Playtex 18-hour bras that i tried on made me look like the movie stars in the 50's whose boobs could be classified as missles - aimed at the sky and ready to fire. That is not the case with this bra. I will admit that it does have a shape all of it's own, and it was not my natural shape. Because of this I almost ditched it. However, when you put your shirt on, there is no wierdness going on, and everything looks totally natural. I do wish they made big sizes in prettier colors...like red or bright blue or canary yellow. Big cup sizes seem to have something against pretty colors.

So far, this is the most comfortable bra I've worn. I'm thankful that, after wearing it all day, I haven't changed my mine or regret buying it. I only bought 1. I wanted to wear it for a while before buying several. I plan to order more on line now that I know.

FYI...I also bought 1 Playtex "shoulder pamper" bra. It has the gell in the shoulder straps for added comfort. I like it too, but it is not as comfortable as the VF. It also has a wire, and I realy prefer no wire if I can get one with all the traits I like. I tried on several Bali bras too. They were also very comfortable. The quality and comfort of the Bali bras had me sold until I tried this VF 71380. I have bought other VF bras before, but this particular modle has them beat hands down.

This is the best bra I have found in 15 years of searching: wire free, fits well, good shape and no show-through. If the straps were non-stretch, wide and padded, this would be 100% the world's most perfect bra.

Seriously, if you think you will always have to use underwire - check out this bra. I had developed perminant bruising from my underwire bras and had to find an alternative. Being a 36DD in need a good support, the search for a decent bra wasn't easy. This bra offers support and comfort.

I can't quite give it a five star, simply because it isn't really that sexy, it's more industial stregnth. It has wide straps, great coverage and good support. And my brusing from my old underwire is finally disappearing. I have 3 of these bras now and I'm not going back to underwires.

This is one of the few 40 or 42B's I've found that fits perfectly and gives great support without those annoying underwires.
They also last forever -- even through machine washing and drying. Love 'em!

As a former Hanes employee trained to fit bras, I recommend that you get professionally fitted, get your size and keep it in mind when trying new bras. You may be measured as a 36C but find that a 38B feels better on you...just use the measurement as a place to start. Many women choose never to be professionally fitted. I bought this for my daughter. It ran large on her so I returned it for one smaller cup size and she's very happy. Says its one of the most comfortable bras she's ever had and the straps rarely fall down. You may find the opposite. Each woman is an individual, no one person the same as another. Any reputable store like Macy's, JC Penney's, Saks, etc should have trained professionals in their lingerie department. But you can probably find a tube video on how to measure yourself properly as well. Hope this helps someone.

I found Vanity Fair bras 3 years ago and haven't bought any other brand since. I am 59 years old, am 5'10 inches tall and weigh 224 pounds. Yet my bust is relatively small. Vanity Fair bras fit me perfectly! What a joy! The fabric is very soft. It doesn't pinch or irritate the skin. The band does not ride up when reaching or stretching; the sign of a well-made bra. The straps stretch and do not leave red marks on my shoulders. I like the foam lining in the cups which prevent show-through and help fill in any "uneven areas". And they come in wire-free! Yippee! They also provide excellent support. I heartily recommend Vanity Fair bras if to any one looking for comfort and fit. On a side note, I wait for the semi-annual sales but any savvy shopper does that. More bang for your buck.

This bra is a lot smaller than other brands I have purchased in the same size. Was disappointed. Otherwise looks like a nice bra, I would order at least 2 sizes bigger, not the cup size but the # of inches around. The demi cup is good for us smaller chested ladies.

I hate bra shopping. Period. I am a hard-to-fit size (42B), and I never seem to get decent, all-day support from a wirefree bra, but this bra is an exception. First, a few earlier reviews recommended sizing up one size in the band, therefore, I ordered a 44B. You DO NOT NEED TO SIZE UP. I am not a 42, and I only need a 42 in this bra. The 44 was okay in the tightest hooks, but I am reordering another bra in a 42. The straps are comfortable and they stay up. The support is great, and it holds 'the girls' in place all day, whereas some bras begin to sag and stretch out after a day or two of wearing. I will be ordering more of these bras, and recommend that you stay with your true size. No need to size-up.

Quality of product was good, but the cups are much bigger than a regular B-cup.

I love this bra more than any other I've tried before. It gives great lift without pushing your boobs too far together so you have neck cleavage, and the cups are not pointy like some larger bras (torpedo tits). I can't wear underwire bras and it is hard to find a wirefree bra that offers as much lift and support as this one does. Also, I can wear this bra the whole day, it is very comfy and does not cut or bind.
