Remote Control Guy to Watch,
This review is from: Vantage Point (Audio CD)
Very good debut album for Atli. The main title (1) and closing cut (15) are excellent. Has a "Man On Fire" sound. Hans Zimmer acted as consultant
and Nick Glennie was the conductor so it has the "famous" Remote Control sound. If you like that sound you'll love the CD. Music worked well in the Movie and plays well as a stand-alone. Like Jablonsky Atli is a guy I'll be watching.

What a beautiful soundtrack,
This review is from: Vantage Point (Audio CD)
I have not heard many scores from Mr. Orvarsson since he appears to be a new name in the composer list. I would never expect the soundtrack to this movie to be so beautiful. From the Main Titles to the End Titles--very calming and touching. Some tracks are faster and upbeat to match the tension and action sequences; but even they have a bit of Eastern elements to them. Very surprised with this. Amazing music. I will be listening for more works by Mr. Orvarsson.

An original score to a film that we keep you on the edge of your seat,

After seeing the action film, "Vantage Point" for the first time, I have to say that it was definitely an unpredictable roller coaster. A cliff hanger thrill ride that will leave you on the edge of your seat! Needless to say that since it was so much fun, I had to go get the soundtrack and after listening to it a couple of times the score certainly compliments the tension as well as, the fast paced action that runs throughout the entire core of the film. The film's composer brings to the table a unique and rather original blend of suspense and hair trigger excitement in many of the tracks. Although some of the tracks on the CD are rather short, the minor slip in time allowed is made up for with exciting themes that serve to heighten the drama along with heartpounding edge of your seat thrills. In the long run, both the film and the soudtrack are definitely worth a look. The story and the action promises to deliver a great thrill ride along with an original score that brings its own diverse mix of drama, suspense and action to an intriguing film.

Nothing original...and a missed opportunity!,

Since the movie takes place in Spain, I was disappointed with the lack of Spanish elements in the music. There are some, but not enough. The action music sounds almost identical to "National Treasure", which is a Disnified sound. It works in NT, but it weakens this movie(which I liked). The "Eastern elements" sound just like parts of Gladiator. I was not impressed with the score.
