Vantec makes great products and this is no different. Cheap, Easy to Use, and it works perfectly with my Mac.

I've been wanting something like this for a while and finally picked up one, the Vantec unit is just USB 2.0 and speeds are what you would expect for USB 2.0. I have used multiple drives in this guy and it's worked flawlessly every time.

I will want an eSata or USB 3.0 unit but for my current needs this is perfectly acceptable. I have used it for wiping and formatting old drives being recycled and backing up my laptop, it's not blazing fast but fast enough. I have no complaints at all, the blue LED built into the power button is fairly bright and may annoy some but really that's all I can think of.

Installation is a snap, just plug it in, stick a sata drive in there, hit the power button and moments later you're accessing the drive. Easy

I wouldn't pay more than $15 for this, while it works perfectly fine it is nothing but a big block of plastic with the adapter mounted inside. There's a little door that holds laptop drives in place and is supposed to flip down when inserting desktop drives, but it was manufactured so poorly that it rubs against the sides causing it to fail to come up all the way after ejecting a drive.

I have no expectation for this to last more than a year, it's a terrible shame that every company is outsourcing to China when this is the kind of cr_p quality that we continue to get from there.

One other complaint, the cables stick straight out of the back of this dock making it impossible to place close to a wall.

I bought this to do hard swap my hard disks to do back up and manage my multiple HDD which I use for office. It does what it is meant for.

Great purchase I made. My 640GB WD external usb port broke and I wasn't buying another external with that one still having so much room. Looked at this and buying a new case and this seemed to be the cheapest and this looked so much easier to use. Overall yet another great purchase off amazon.

I bought this to retrieve data from a hard drive on a computer where the motherboard died. Plugging in the hard drive was simple and I was immediately able to access the data. Having used it now for a few weeks, it's still working just fine. Simple to use and reliable.

It just works, as stated, very simply. I had never used one before, works with my Mac, am happy. Plug and play basically. Saved a hard drive that the mac "geniuses" said was dead. DiskWarrior and this dock saved me and now I have a 320 GB extra drive.

This makes everything convenient for me. It hasn't failed and still working great except that I didn't like the power plug connector to the base.

Well my experience is completely different than the other reviewer I see for this product.

I have owned two of these for well over a year and they have both worked flawlessly.

I use one on a dedicated video editor and another on a run of the mill Dell PC.

I interchange SATA internal OEM drives on both all the time up to 1TB capacity.

I use WD, Seagate and Hitachi/IBM drives, both 3.5" and 2.5" drives with these units and all work fine.

Super easy installation, just pop the drive in, turn it on and the editor and PC recognize it.

The units have both USB and SATA connections, but I have only used the USB connection which works fine.

Swapping drives is easy, push the button and pop out the drive and insert another.

They run way cooler than in an enclosure as well of course.

This enclosure is a piece of crap. I was told from one of our senior MVP techs that this dock was the best available, bullcrap.

It sucks, plain and simple. The Apricorn SATA/IDE to USB is a much more reliable adapter. I was disappointed to constantly see USB device not recognized upon turning this hard drive dock on.

If it wasn't for that error that I constantly get I may have rated it better.
