4.0 out of 5 stars Great design - but limited information, March 12, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these thinking that they were metal throughout the chopstick. No where did any website or ad (even on Vargo site itself) mention that the tips are wood. If I would have known this, I would have bought the Snow Peak brand chopsticks - they are much more attractive and have the wooden feel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vargo & SnowPeak Comparison, March 31, 2008
I have both the Vargo Chopstix and the SnowPeak ones... here's the rundown:
Vargo Chopstix are slightly lighter weight & assemble faster, but aren't as comfortable in your hand & are tipped with a lower-grade, unfinished wood that holds flavors for days.
SnowPeak by comparison weigh ~.4oz more and take ~5 extra seconds to assemble, but generally work better as chopsticks. The finished White Ash tips come to a finer point, flavors don't stick, and the wood doesn't splinter. The case is also slightly better quality & has an attached lanyard.
Both are still way better than trying to eat noodles with a spork, but all in all, I'd go with the SnowPeak.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why by a $20 pair of chopsticks?, October 18, 2007
Because they are perfect. They are easy to fold out, they are light, have a nice wooden tip which grasps food much more easily than metal, they come with their own travel-case which is no-nonsense, and will fit in practically any pocket.

My favorite feature is the speed at which these puppies expand. It is a simple grap, turn, and plug sort of maneuver. I can do it in less than a second.
