I've been waiting for this one, March 20, 2007
This review is from: Variations/Loveline (Audio CD)
In the 1970s when pop music disintegrated into the mind-numbing mess known as disco and so many of us fled to country music, Eddie Rabbitt was there to welcome us. The 20 songs on this CD are an excellent sampling of what made Eddie Rabbitt the crossover artist of the decade.
I must admit I purchased this CD (after owning 6 or 7 Eddie Rabbitt vinyl albums for 30 years) on St. Patrick's Day 2007 for ONE SONG -- "Song of Ireland". If you have a single drop of Irish blood flowing through your veins, this song will make you cry in your Guinness. The other 19 songs just reminded me why I loved this guy so much.
Great hits like "Hearts on Fire", "Pour me Another Tequila", "You Don't Love Me Anymore" and "Gone Too Far", make this "Two albums on one CD" set worth the price, but my favorite Eddie Rabbitt song will always be "I Just Want To Love You".
And if you didn't know; Elvis Presley's "Kentucky Rain" was written by Rabbitt and his version on this CD is faithfully delivered, straight to the heart.
Eddie Rabbitt died an untimely death in 1998 at the age of 56, but this and other cd collections will assure that future generations will know just what a wonderful songwriter -- and singer -- he was. Buy it. You'll be thrilled with this music.

Gone Too Far.. (and too long) without these great albums!!, March 24, 2007
This review is from: Variations/Loveline (Audio CD)
Agree with last reviewer "Song of Ireland" I remember loving well. Some of these songs I have not been heard for 30 years! Wow..the memories they bring back! I speak for many I'm sure. MUCH praise and thanks to WOUNDED BIRD RECORDS for this! It was WaaaaaAY Overdue!! "Song of Ireland" can also be found on Eddies new PLATINUM COLLECTION.
Now, I'm just wishing they'll get the album ROCKY MOUNTAIN MUSIC on CD.
I'm afraid it's going to be neglected because I don't know what other album they could pair it with, since most from this era have already been matched. It SHOULD have been paired with EDDIE RABBITT from 1977. Because I love the song " Tullahoma Dancing Pizza Man". Does anybody remember that one? Sure it's kinda silly..and who can get get a pizza for $4.99 anymore? But it was a great song and brings back memories of the good ol' days.
Oh well, at least we have most of the good stuff....FINALLY!

Variations/Loveline CD, January 11, 2007

I have the albums and this is the only place I have found the music on CD.
They are full of great music with lots of sentimental value. It is great price for the double CD.
