I really don't like to review things because I can't never think of what to say but since no one had written anything about it I couldn't resist.

So, this album is absolutely stunning. I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I bought it. It compiles a complete range of emotions with every song and is perfect to let yourself drown in the voidness of existence without keeping you away from thinking... in anything but in the music.

The Dany Elman-esque songs are very interesting, but my absolute favorite is Chopin's " Nocturne In E Flat Major Op 9 No 2", one of my all time favs and now performed with Maksim's characteristic sounds... just fantastic.

I purchased this after hearing the "Totentanz" track. I was pleasantly surprised to find the rest of the album is fantastic as well. The tracks on "Variations" are diverse. If you like bond or Vanessa-Mae's "dance" versions of classical pieces, you'll like all of Maksim's albums. This is an import so it's a bit of a wait on the shipping, but well worth the extra time.

I had previously purchased The Piano Player and loved it, of course. This album is a bit different, the music is a bit more moody and complex - it will take you on an emotional journey: victory, exploration, longing, heart break, resolution... This is not just some background music while you're driving in your car - it will take centre stage of your thoughts and imagination.

Maksim's talent really shines through in this CD as the ease with which he plays complex pieces is quite astonishing. Croatia must be proud!

Music is great but the quality of the CD is not very good. The disc. keep jumping and skip during a song. It said on the find print this only happen if you played the CD in the car. But I play at home and it still doing that.
