5.0 out of 5 stars The Best is Always a Joy, January 22, 2001

Manfred Hartmann (Quarryville, PA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Various Artists Sing Robert Stolz (Audio CD)
Being transported to another time and place is the the romantic's ultimate dream ,and this is just the album to facilitate this pleasure. The diverse artistic style of Stolz fits every mood, while the vocal renditions are of the finest quality. From beginning to end, this is a C.D. to be played and replayed since each of it's selections is uniquely Stolz, and Stolz is unique. Listening to this album is akin to opening a treasure chest and finding a precious gem each time lid is opened. Not only are the familiar Robert Stolz standards included, but there are also many surpises in store that may not be familiar to the an American listener. Surely, there can be no better combination than Stoltz paired with Richard Tauber to atest to this being a recording of the highest caliber, and this is only the beginning! Various Artists Sing Robert Stolz is truly the best album I have found after an exhaustive search, and the best ia always a joy!
