5.0 out of 5 stars Best non-seminar review book for the ARDMS RVT exam!
I feel like this book covers all the information necessary to pass the ARDMS RVT specialty exam. It is very thorough, and well written. If you don't have several hundred dollars to go to a review seminar, and even if you do, this book is a great asset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Study Tool, January 16, 2002
By
APRIL (HUNTSVILLE, AL United States) - See all my reviews
This book is hands down the best book to study for the RVT exam. This is the only book I used to study and passed the ARDMS (RVT) on the first try. Lots of great information I didn't even know, also a great quick reference!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent contents, poor package, November 11, 2005

This review is from: Vascular Technology: An Illustrated Review, Third Edition (Paperback)
This paperback, which is only available in paperback, is outstanding for both passing the registry exam and grasping virtually all you need to know as a vascular sonographer.
It is easy to read, simple but not simplistic, good continuity, accurate, and a great deal of it's contents seem to be on the registry exam very much like it appears in the book.
It should be kept in mind that it is inherently not a reference book (it is not intended to be) so if you are seeking detailed comprehensive explanations, you probably won't find it here. For that you will need a supplemental text (I prefer Zwiebel & Pellerito, Fifth Ed. for that purpose). The one big negative about "Vascular Technology" is that it has just about the WORST
binding ever. Pages literally fall out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for preparation for the RVT Technology exam., February 3, 1999
By A Customer
As an instructor in Ultrasound physics I find this book a very concise compilation of all the areas tested by the ARDMS. I am using this text in our accredited ultrasound program. It is hard to find one textbook that covers all the fundamentals in an easily read and studied format.

I am so thankful that I was finally able to get this book. I have attended seminars by one of the authors and spent some time at Henry Ford Hospital with her ( in a teaching situation). I respect her and her work.
I have always wanted her book and am happy to finally have it.
I have not hard time to read through the book but knowing how organized her seminars were, I know it will be organized and to the point. I needed a reference book as I am RVT and this will fit the bill for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars CME credits provided, August 29, 2005
This review is from: Vascular Technology: An Illustrated Review, Third Edition (Paperback)
This book is good for someone new to vascular ultrasound. I am a cardiology fellow looking to analyze carotid ultrasound and peripheral ultrasound. It covers basic fundamentals of ultrasound and also provides CME credits. It also has severals color slides.

4.0 out of 5 stars I passed the RVT boards on the first try using only this book!, November 4, 2010
Yes, the binding on this book is a bit poor, however, my book has been tossed around, dropped and thrown in back seat of the car and has not fallen apart. I guess that was the least of my worry. I only care that this book has enough information that I can clearly understand to pass the RVT board exam...and it does! This is the only book I studied from, and although the exam itself was very tough, I was able to answer many of the questions easily because of the information I learned from this book. I highly recommend this book if you are going to take your RVT board exam.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Source for CME's or RVT Exam, May 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The authors of this book are very well known and established in our little vascular world. I have seen numerous presentations at Conferences across the country by them in the last 15 or so years. The Vascular Tech Review is a great for prep for the RVT exam and for CME'S (12 SDMS that apply to our ARDMS req). As a Vascular Tech since 1987 I can vouch for the book's layout, content and conciseness. As stated by others it really needs a spriral binding, the spine of this book breaks and pages are lost.

I also recommend for RVT exam or 12 CME's Introduction to Vascular Scanning: A Guide for the Complete Beginner (Introductions to Vascular Technology)(3rd Edition)

Happy reviewing!

I WENT TO EDELMAN SEMINAR TO PREPARE FOR RVT EXAM. THIS BOOK CONTAINS PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING THE WORKBOOK FROM THE SEMINAR CONTAINS. EXCEPT THIS BOOK EXPLAINS THINGS A LITTLE MORE WHICH IS GREAT IF YOU HAVE LIMITED EXPERIENCE WITH VASCULAR. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK IN YOUR PREP FOR RVT EXAM. IF YOU KNOW 80% OF WHAT'S IN THIS BOOK YOU WILL PASS!! IF YOU CAN GO TO ESP SEMINAR GREAT IF NOT THIS IS A MUST HAVE BOOK AT LEAST, AND WORTH THE INVESTMENT.
