5.0 out of 5 stars Vasque Blur SL is Awesome!
I've ran in these shoes for 7 weeks now so I'll share with you my thoughts on them.

the GOOD
* Superior Traction - the lugs and rubber on these shoes have no trouble maintaining traction on the trails. I run in Hawaii and our trails vary from wet & muddy rain forests to dry rocky desert like conditions. These shoes perform great on our gnarly trails...

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't meet expectations.
I loved the look of the shoe and still do. However I found the toe box to be enormous and a bit of a distraction when I'm wearing them. Surprisingly, I like the comfort that comes when a shoe feels more snug.
I thought that these would be the ideal shoe for disc golfing but the heel portion seems to be coming apart due to poor glue? We'll have to see how their...

These shoes perform great on our gnarly trails.
* Roomy Toe Box - these shoes have ample room in the toe box. Almost feels like a pair of jungle boots, but at only 12 ounces. And the uppers do a great job of holding your foot down snug, so running on off camber surfaces do not cause your feet to shift and get squeezed into one side.
* Solid Toe Bumper - offers bullet proof protection from stubbing your toes on rocks & roots.
* Firm Cushioning -these shoes can transition to paved roads if your course requires it and have enough cushion to keep your feet happy.
* Pronation Support - I'm a moderate pronator and these shoes have firm support that works fine for me.
* Open Ventilation - the nylon mesh releases heat and allows your socks to dry quickly if you step in a puddle.

the BAD
* Smelly Rubber - they have this funky rubber smell. Not very strong, but I notice it.
* Grey Color - I think the grey model is ugly, but I bought it because it was only $50 : )

the CONCLUSION
* These are highly capable trail running shoes that will get you to your destination in comfort, whether its a 5 mile weekend trail run or a 100 mile ultra.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe!, November 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am a trail runner and have been searching for a good trail running shoe for a long time. The Blur seems to be the answer. I know it has a reputation for having a wide-toe box which I need, and it does. At first, it felt narrow, but I think it just took some time to break-in. I purchased the "D" model, and am interested in trying the "E" model, but concerned that it might give the shoe too much volume for my feet like the Mind Bender.

Worn the shoes for > 6 months now on lots of hikes on the sand and rock of the Southwest. No comfort or wear issues whatsoever. Would buy again and recommend to friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good summer shoe, September 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got this shoe for summer wear in Texas. Feels good and cool. Size is true. Put the shoe up to the light and you can see the light coming through the mesh into the shoe. That's great. No gore-tex. Good air circulation. Thats what I wanted. I usually wear this shoe w/o socks around the house and short trips. Top toe design could look better!

4.0 out of 5 stars rugged, neutral trail ride.. good., July 12, 2011

I'm buying another pair. Note: the sizing is big. I usually use an 11, with this one it's a 10.5. Using orthotics, breathable, stable, my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable and Light, May 10, 2011
By
This shoe is comfortable and light. I haven't used it much in the backcountry so I can't comment on trail worthiness. I can wear the shoe everywhere, from local bar hopping to riding bikes to yardwork.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent shoe, February 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got this shoe just in time for a trip to a conference at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. The shoe looks good. Good enough, in fact, that I was completely comfortable wearing them to my conference sessions and then out to the resort parks when the day was done.

The shoe size seems to run a little bit small. My dress shoes are a 9 1/2 W. I got these in a 10 (like my old New Balance running shoes -- which are known to size themselves as much as a full size off) and after wearing them for a couple of days, they feel like gloves on my feet.

They are not waterproof. I wore them to Universal Orlando and we ended up on ride where we were guaranteed to get wet. We did, and my toes were far more soaked than my ankles. That's the price of having these uppers: you get great ventilation, but ventilation comes at the cost of waterproofing.

My feet were tired at the end of the day, and I could tell that I was hauling around a few extra ounces on my feet, but all in all, I love these shoes, and I don't think that my feet were any MORE tired than they would have been had I worn my old running shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best shoes ever, January 11, 2011

Very durable, comfortable, and I have not slipped on any adventure when I take them off the beaten trail. Absolutly love the cushion and foot support. They have a great arch support for me. I have my newest and 3rd pair, but the first ones from a few years ago look fantastic and still are comfy and supportive for a hike. Great long-wearing tread. I usually destroy 2-3 pair a year...but not Vasque!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great trail running shoe, December 25, 2010

As a few prior reviews have commented, a very roomy toebox that I don't have a problem with. This is my first trail running shoe, so I have nothing to compare against, but it's very comfortable and light, and provides great traction and support on some very technical trails I run over lots of rocks and roots.
